    Wristers of London

Has anyone used this new watch dealer who appeared on Instagram in December and seems to have a good selection of Rolexes Tudors and Omegas?

    Hi mate,

The two guys who run Wristers are good friends of mine.

Incidentally, I bought the Rhodium OP39 that is pictured recently on their Instagram :)

    All legit, good guys.

    Hi,

I know these guys also, they been watch enthusiasts for years, think COVID made them go in this direction as a bit of a side business

100% would buy from them and probably will when they get a watch I want

When I saw the thread title I thought it must be to do with a private club for Gentlemen who like a little "fun".

My inner 12 year giggled at that too - could possibly have a rethink of their name.

I thought it was a new euphemism to join 'stroker' and 'palmer' and the OP was unhappy with his deal. I wonder how many more of their mates will join the forum to make a first post saying how great they are?

I'm glad it's not just me...and then I thought "one off the wrist" - but that, if not already used, would be a bit unsubtle.

And you are not a 'wrister' yourself?
You are the only person posting positive comments about the 'wristers' and the only thread you have ever posted on is this one?

I’m guessing you need to pop to spec savers. There’s a few positive comments in here besides the one from myself.

I’m friends with one of the owners of the Wristers, we do a YouTube channel together.

I’m sure if the moderators would actually let them sign up and actually reply in this forum that they had absolutely no idea existed until today, they would comment themselves.

A lot of very busy people in here that have no experience with dealing with them, or even know of them. Very very strange.

I know the guys have been working very hard to start this, they’ve invested in lots of physical stock, worked hard on photography, branding, website etc they know they’re not completely perfect as it’s an early working progress but they’re honest hard working guys.

This place has been going for 19 years - if they have mileage in the watch community then they clearly need to be more aware.

    Strange person.

It may well have been going 19 years, in fact it probably still looks the same as 19 years ago. Terrible looking forum. I doubt it’ll still be here 19 years.

One thing is for sure I am certain your responses on here will have lost Wristers / Clockbait as few sales from forum members.

If it were my company I would not be one bit happy.

I hope they do well but they really need to rethink the name. It's hard to say it without a smirk or snigger, and doesn't exude class in a way prestige watch dealer may wish to.

Sadly the name was all I needed to see. The rush to endorse was probably unhelpful.

Sent this over to the guys at wristers, this is the message they’ve sent back as they can’t even sign up or even reply to this thread...

Good evening people of the forum world, this post has been brought to our attention by a friend.

First of all we would like to thank those who have given us glowing references.

We would like to point out that the name is a joke a play on words and if it made you smirk we have achieved our goal. We are definitely not Naive enough to not know what Wristers means, it was chosen intentionally.

Please check out our page and drop us a dm. Hopefully we can do some business and you can draw your opinions from fact not narrow minded snobbery.

    Thanks for reading

    Wristers of London

Ps this forum takes me back to the early 00s 😂

It was going well until I reached this point, they could have worded that better. That said, I wish them well.

A google search for “wristers of London” throws this thread up as the 4th hit.

Like others have said the lack of pricing and the only contact being a mobile phone number isn’t ideal. But as Ally said the photography is nice. Good luck with it

Genuine chaps. They've been on the Clio sport forum for years, and very active on the watch threads as well.

I'd be confident buying from them.

Crappy company name (the double-entendre is not in the plus column), no prices on the website, favours the use of stupid forum nicknames for models, no info. about the company, only contact no. is a mobile, no physical address...

Apart from the photos it all looks a bit amateurish and wouldn't inspire me to part with thousands of pounds.

Yes, very dodgy. Think there’s a legal requirement to provide a physical address, VAT number (if applicable) and so on.

Limited stock? You expecting them to be watchfinder?

More stock than most/if not all AD of the popular models

  33. #33

I’d never come across (ooh-err missus) Wristers or their friend clockbait_luke before and it doesn’t look like the #1 fan is around anymore. However, he has managed to single handedly destroy their image in my highly imaginary mind. Shame, as it was all going so well until the insults started.

By the way, on the forums will be dead and buried before any of us make it to the other side.... Pistonheads? Singletrackworld? This one (accessible via the highly advanced Tapatalk thingy)? I suspect I could go on for a while longer but really can’t be bothered.

Ignore these trolls, I've reported them to the moderators for being so beastly, but the mods here are so slow, discussing everything endlessly before acting. However, as you know the chaps at Wristers, I was wondering if they can source me a PRS-48 Navigator?

  40. #40
I don't get the Instagram model.

And I like this place exactly how it is. No dog in the fight but the sales approach is narrow.

The alternative theory is that he is from a rival, and wants to destroy them before they can gain any traction. Seems more likely, as he cannot actually be trying to help them surely?

    Wristers of London

Think it’s safe to assume that the Wristers don’t consider watch nerds on a forum to be their target market - and they are probably right. There is no way id be coaxed into parting with 5k to an unknown entity on the basis of some glossy insta shots. Maybe they have someone lined up to name drop them on Love Island

I suspect we are not their target audience and so are not too worried, however if you do a nslookup on their domain there are no contact details, combined with a mobile only contact number and the fact this thread is the first non promoted hit in Google if it were my project I’d be looking at damage limitation now.

After all this might be an outdated forum, likely heading the way of the dodo, but most of us here still recall the old maxim ‘Don’t buy the watch, buy the seller...’

By associating yourself with Wrister and informing them of this thread and then pasting their reply you have presented yourself as an ambassador for the company. If you do this you need to be a more diplomatic. Being relatively new and with a low post count nobody will be used to your humour/reply/comment style. You're coming across as combative.

This thread is in the public part of the forum and if you Google search the company this thread comes up.
