Dive Watch to make the trio

Looking for suggestions for a dive watch, however it's needs to be special, not mass produced, but not cost a fortune..
The watches I currently have is an Offshore Professional, made by Lorne Gifford..a very unique and special watch.. Next is on order from Dornbluth, a 99.1 with brass dial etc. Again very unique, and very much made to order.
So I'm looking for a Brand or person who makes Dive watches, of exceptional quality with a real love for what they do.. Max price would be around 5k landed, but can be cheaper
    Any suggestions welcomed..

First one that comes to mind is www.germano.de

It may also be worth logging into www.oceanictime-blogspot.com for their list of boutique manufacturers.

Edit : Www.utswatches.com is another worth looking at.

I mean not a brand focused on Dive watches, but the Ming diver is an incredibly well built dive watch, if a little conventional. Can be had in your budget too on the secondary market.

The non-mass produced and £5k criteria limits any immediate options I can think of...

How do you feel about a microbrand?

The ming is really nice and a genuine original design, I'm also partial to Laventure, https://www.laventure.swiss/en

Takes inspiration from a few of the big boys but the bronze especially gives it's own twist and from all accounts really well made, the only thing putting me of is price but it's within your budget.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the suggestions..the Ming is very unique, but out of production, and wouldn't pay over the RRP.. will do a bit of research on the others... I must admit, I do like bronze..

A fellow Offshore Professional owner here (#131), and a big dive watch fan too.

For something handmade and very different you might want to take a look at the UTS 4000m Professional Diver. Rather like the Field Engineer, it’s the brainchild and obsessive creation of one man, Nicolaus Spinner.

VDB are well worth a look, especially their custom efforts - distinctive and well crafted.

Tourby have more traditional but still individual divers ranges, which they are happy to customise to your preferences.

In a similar vein to UTS - Kaventsmann may be worth a look.

H2O also offer quite a bit of configurability in their various ranges - just hope they've sorted their confusing website since I last looked...

If you like the look of what Dornbluth are doing, Nauticfish are owned by the same people and specialise in diver watches. Never mind the name...

Quite partial to some of Andersmann's offerings - a little out of the usual, and I believe they will undertake bespoke orders:

Proverbial mixed-bag, but food-for-thought at least.

They say you learn something new everyday, I have learnt 2 things! Thank you.
I did not know Nautifish were owned by the same people S Dornbluth, it makes them even more appealing,
I had never heard of Andersmann before and they make some really good looking watches for ‘reasonable out lay’ the 3000m is lovely looking, you can see where their inspiration lays but that’s not a bad thing in my opinion.

I have a hankering for a UTS and VBD just because they are so whacky

Along with the others, UTS are also very much on my own long-range radar - shame these smaller brands are so scarce on the used market.

...actually, not a shame, probably just as well - I can't afford to indulge in everything I like the look of!

That UTS 4000 professional is a beast...but I love the fact it's made by hand and in house.. as mentioned by Simon very much in the same vain as the Offshore Professional.. enquiry sent, so we'll see what develops.

Glad you like the look of it. I’ll be interested in your updates.

It is a big watch, but to put it into context it’s the same diameter as a Breitling Avenger Seawolf 2 (which I also own) but 1mm less in depth.

Let us know how you get on.

I mentioned UTS in post #2.

I owned a UTS 500m diver several years ago (I sold it on here) & it's the only watch I've ever owned that seemed to gravitate towards doorframes & anything else it could bump into. The watch was fine; the objects connecting with it less so. The other thing to consider is that the head is super-heavy. I couldn't get the bracelet to be comfortable & hold the watch head in place.

Jim, I can imagine, and that would be my only concern, although some other comments I read suggest the position of the lugs help how it sits on the wrist..

Simon, expect lots of pictures if I go for it..

Not really unique but those oris 65 divers in bronze or stainless with a bronze bezel do look fantastic and you will have enough left over for an holiday :)

I just bought this. Only 72 being made so you'll need to be quick however you'll never lose a penny on it.

I have two mates who own a laventure watch amongst a collection of tudor, rolex etc...
They're both positive on the fact the build quality is easily on par with Tudor, if it can help.
Although they're not the easiest to find, pretty much sold out all the time

As said before, the zrc grands fonds and the triton subphotique are two iconic dive watches that are of good build quality and not seen often.
The triton especially has quite a versatile appeal and you can find it in different colours. Pictures to help the digestion

That is bloomin' lovely. What a dial! Think I like everything about that, dial, crystal, handset with just the right touch of yellow.

Has no-one mentioned Gruppo Ardito Watches?

The Kraken Kaiser could be a great addition to your collection. You could bring it to dive the Mariana trench, as it is tested to withstand 11000 meters depths!

100% (apart from the Swiss movement) made in Italy by a small atelier.

    Give 'em a look.
