    Ach5

Many years ago Ach5 of this parish, gave the wife and I some furniture that he no longer wanted. The deal was on the proviso that the furniture was for us, and not for us to sell on and make a quick buck. Which of course we would never have done..

Anywhoo one of the items that we got was a bureau, which we used for many years until recently when the wife fancied a change.

One of my wife’s friends and fellow horsey lady, has been fighting cancer for the last couple of years, and has been through the mill with her chemo and radiation treatment.

Other than her horses, this lady loves to repurpose old furniture as a way of relaxing, so we gave her the bureau, and this is what she’s done with it

So Ach5... the bureau lives to fight another day...

Lovely gestures all round Andy and what a fantastic renovation, I love that and take my hat off to people that can do things like this. Lovely distraction from everything she has been through.

Cheers... yes it’s good to see stuff get refurbished in a throw away world. I believe the furniture belonged to Adrians parents, so hopefully he’ll be chuffed to see it getting yet another lease of life..

I agree, its nice to see stuff like this survive. I had to get rid of furniture in 2006 when my dad died, couldn’t find anyone who wanted it despite our best efforts so it got broken up, seemed so wrong but we had to get rid if it somehow.

I remember playing at this desk as a child. I actually recognise the pattern of the delamination on the back of the lock. Amazing! Must be 10 years since you had this?
