    PayPal

Does funding a PayPal payment for goods with a credit card add an extra layer of protection?

I believe so. Say you bought something and wasn't happy with the transaction for some reason. Even if PayPal doesn't refund you, you can go to your CC company and request a chargeback, which means Paypal cannot refuse to refund you. I think this is how it works, but I stand to be corrected.
