What's the crown like to use Eddie / Chris? Does the 'reverse slope' make it harder to pull out to the first and second clicks?

A little, the faceted edges overhang the case by a fraction so providing you haven't bitten your nails off it's not a problem.

Yup and is lug to lug 51mm or 49mm? 49mm puts it bang on my current biggest so go some room there size wise.

49mm is what I measured with my digital calipers, you can ask Chris what he gets.

Has it!? Doh, I'd completely missed it in that case.

I imagine will be available at start of Eddie's business hours on Tuesday. ;-)

Just looking into aluminium "marine" bronze and thought I'd share this:

CuAL10Ni5Fe4 Nickel Aluminum Bronze alloy is an excellent choice for applications involving heavy loads, abrasive wear resistant, friction, abrasive wear and corrosion. The addition of nickel increases the alloys strength without diminishing its excellent ductility, toughness and corrosion resistance. Typical applications include aircraft landing gear components, strut bearings, main pistons, trunnion bearings and similar vital components.

Typical Uses for CuAL10Ni5Fe4 Nickel Aluminum Bronze:

INDUSTRIAL: Hydraulic Bushings for Earth Moving Equipment, Corrosion Resistant Articles, Bushings, Bearings, Heat Exchanger Flanges, Heat Exchanger Headers, Tanks, Valve Balls, Structural Members, Pump Shafts, Aircraft Parts, Valve Guides, Plunger Tips, Welded Piping Systems, Balls, Gears, Cams, Pump Parts, Shafting, Condenser Tube for Power Stations and Desalting Units, Valve Seats
MARINE: Pump Parts, Bolts, Nuts, Propellers, Ship Propellers
    PLUMBING: Faucets

It is mostly copper (not surprisingly - over 80%), then aluminium, then nickel and finally, I believe, a little iron.

I can't wait. SWMBO has given me permission to spend my hard earned on one of these for my 40th, which is next fortnight.

I'll be poised over the computer mouse come open time in Old Blighty.

To answer my own question, if you try add it to your basket you get a message saying it isn't available until tomorrow. I just wish I could afford it ...

That is a good price. But it's just a tad more than I was hoping for. I have 12 or hours to convince myself I need it now.

Is this a formal limited edition model, and if so what volume? Or is it limited simply in as much as there is a limited amount of bronze bought and available for the project? I did try a search...

From what I understand Eddie ordered 300 cases split into two batches. Don't know if there are more after the 300 are gone?

That is good value IMO for a bronze cased ETA powered watch. Need to make my mind up sharpish! I would love an Anonimo Polluce Bronze but this seems like much better value!

I was offered an Anoniomo Polluce Bronze in trade on a watch I had on the SC quite a while ago, back then I just couldn't see the appeal of bronze... What a pillock!

Its just a shame that we have just had the smiths diver released, now this beauty, then very soon both speedbirds are going to be back in stock and the DN GMT also forthcoming. Shame they are all happening at once. I do like the PRS 30 and Eddie is known for his outstanding watches and attention to detail etc. But £755 with the other long awaited watches also due I`ll have to pass on this one im afraid. But I do have to say it does look an absolute stunner thou. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. #774
£755 or not, I've already forked out for two extra straps to go with it so I might just as well get one now!

    Ordered.
I must be mad - borderline size wise and more expensive than my next two most expensive watches added together.
    Still excited though!

  31. #781
Still some left - I've bagged one

  32. #782
Me too. A bronce watch at that price was just irresistible.....

  33. #783
Yeah! My new straps with bronze hardware are getting a new watch! (Can't help thinking I did this the wrong way round..)

  34. #784
Just ordered so hope I'm in luck. Typically I was outside of a 3g signal when Eddie opened for business.

Anyone with <7" wrists ordered this?
Im hoping there's some left by the time someone can post up photos on a small wrist.
Watch size is fine but the wide straps are making me hold off now I've seen them on bigger wrists :(

Me. Wrists about 6 and a half inches.
Wrists are reasonably flat so 50mm lug to lug is ok on me - this is a smidgen bigger but I'm hoping the curved lugs will compensate.
If not I'll just buy a gasgasbones to stick it on. I'm sure that'll make up the difference.

  37. #787
    Under 7 inch...

You're in the same boat as me. Damn my girly wrists. And the price, although reasonable, is just outside what I'm comfortable paying on a whim.

Well I'm a 6.75" and I've just taken a punt. I had a Magrette Brass in 44mm and wear a PAM243 in the same size. Both have similar case designs so I'm gambling that it will be OK. It sounds like the strap will be far too big but I'll cross that hurdle when I come to it....

I ordered mine at about 09:15 UK time. It's the most I've ever spent on a watch and I have puny wrists to boot. But I can get away with my Radiomir homage so I think I will be okay. I'm really looking forward to the patina developing.

I can't wait to wear it at the regimental dinner for 12 (think: Ripping Yarns) I'm having for my 40th next month.

If I don't get the subtle aroma of stale fags when I open the package I'll be very disappointed. It all adds to peculiarly British character of a TF watch for me. ;-)

You'll be disappointed then, last fag smoked was 20 February 2013.
