    TZ hive mind help requested

I am in need of some suggestions.

Watch required for friends sons 21st.

    Budget £300(ISH)

He currently has a few watches mainly fashion quartz types.

Ideally I think he could do with moving onto something more mechanical.

Any suggestions that offer something special or stands out in that price bracket?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance offered

    Any Seiko diver really.

    Hamilton field mechanical perhaps.

Or maybe a micro-brand (Zelos launch some new swordfish soon).

Stretch to a baby Dreadnought? £360, and what a watch!

May I submit that you may well be wasting your time and money unless he has some input.

Chances are he’d prefer an Apple Watch.

Edit - An Everest is a pretty good suggestion if going in blind.

Why do you think he could do with a mechanical watch?

Everybody could do with a mechanical watch. It’s just that some people haven’t realised it yet

I bought my godson an Orient Bambino for his 18th birthday and put it on a mesh bracelet - he loves it.

Yeah but if the guy couldn’t give a fig about watches then he’d prob prefer the convenience of a quartz maybe. Just seemed a bit of an assumption

For closure ended up a 2 watch solution in the end.

A seiko 5 sports and a tough solar G shock.

Thanks all for the suggested watches.
