    Show Your Certina

We have threads for lots of brands so I thought we could do the same for Certina as I know there are loads of them across forum ownership. We can use this thread as a reference for Certina watches.

I first purchased the brand a couple of years ago and, apart from a mis-aligned chapter ring, I was really impressed. As I bought that watch new from Beaverbrooks I returned it because of that issue. Fast-forward a couple of years and I got the chance to buy a nearly-new DS Action Diver with the 80 hour Powermatic movement. It's a really lovely dive watch with a beautiful high-glass dial, great movement and timekeeping and a nice quality fitted rubber with stainless steel deployant clasp.

It's rated at 300m water resistant and ISO6425 compliant. The bezel action is crisp and aligns perfectly. One line of dial text and the second hand are green in colour and that small splash of colour makes a nice change and works really well.

I hope this thread takes off and we get a great resource for Certina watches.

    Some pics of mine:

I have never owned a Certina but yours is a lovely thing, I was tempted a while ago by a ds podium, this thread could be dangerous for my bank account

I could have sworn we had a 'show your Certina' thread, but maybe it's on WUS.

    Anyway, here's a couple.

I wanted a quartz moonphase (I liked the idea, but not having to keep a mechanical running) and I bought one from SC thinking it was grey, but it turned out to be a brown shade that I could never get on with.

However, I did really like the watch, so I sold the Brown one and bought a brand new grey dialed example instead, which I still have.

I don't wear it a huge amount, but I'm very happy with it - It's a SQ movement also found (At least recently) in some Breitling models.

Only the one, 70's Certronic. The largest of the tuning fork watches I believe, it's a big(44mm I think) and heavy old lump but I like it.

I've had 2 of the new DH PS reissues. Both were lovely watches, with the new blue one especially so. Only sold to help fund others (as you do!)

Both of those models are so good, especially at their prices, pretty incredible.

I like them, good value for money and very well put together.

    Certina DS Super PH 500M

I’ve also got the PH200 re-issue, as pictured elsewhere on this thread, and I’m wearing it today, another great watch.

I have had 2, and still have 1.
This one I got restored from a very beaten up state to quite tidy

And this one I also got sorted out, and I don't think it is going anywhere

The DS system remains one of the best case innovations in watch history, imho.

    I would gladly have more

    That's handsome Jason.

I had an orange dialled Sky Diver like that I traded to Foggy many years ago.

I do find the majority of Certinas a bit meh but some (like yours) are spectacular.

Cheers Neil, I too had a Technos Sky Diver, got it very cheap at a watch fair, I got badgered into selling it on RLT years ago, regretted it as soon as I sold it.

Don’t have it anymore, but this is very high quality quartz and the seconds hand was bang on the markers.

Really lovely look ph500 you have. I’ve been considering one but I’m apprehensive due to the size.
Could you do a side by side photo with the ph200?

This is the first Powermatic movement I’ve had and it’s excellent, losing two seconds per day consistently.
