    Show us your mods!

    Hi all,

I'm a serial watch modifier/restorer/tinkerer and it seems there's a few like minded folk on here.

We should have a thread to show off what we've been up to.

Here's my latest, I wanted to build something vintage styled with a Seiko waffle dial I had.

Powered by an NH36 and uses a Bliger 40mm case.

Looking forward to seeing what you guys have.

    Thanks

    A

I thought I'd add to this thread to set the bar suitably low. My modding skills would best be described as "missing".

With that understood, a few shots from the shambles operating theatre:

Yes yes, but how did they turn out?

I had swapped out Hardlex for sapphire crystals before, but think this was the first time I ever changed a dial, rehaut and hands too:

Subsequently I replaced the bezel for a more, umm, authentic look. I called it the Moxa:

(I actually owned a 750T Searambler, but I found the quality quite poor, especially the hands. I think my Moxa was a little better finished)

And another one I put together that has elements of something else I must have fancied at the time:

I made a few for friends too, who were happy. And I managed to fix up some older ones that came my way, after collecting quite a lot of kit and Seiko oils and such like.

But my eyes are not good now (even with corrective lenses) so I have hung up my loupe. I now restrict myself to battery changes and perhaps the odd case-back gasket, of which I still appear to own hundreds of every diameter and thickness. Probably for the best.

Here’s another of mine, this time something more dressy.

some very nice looking watches on this thread, been known to put one or two together myself in the past.heres one of mine i assembled up yesterday from parts bought mostly from china.the case is a 45mm with a rotating inner bezel and brass movement holder, its very good quality even the bezel gears are metal.the KMK logo is one i had 3D printed.the hands i relumed with superluminova C3.movement is my usual miyota 8215.it all went together quite nicely without any trimming or fettling needed for a change...

Looks good, love the idea of the 3D printed logo.
