    Electric shaver updates.

With respect to Panasonic which seem to update/change models every year - I have the LV65 and upgraded to the LV9Q with the fancy floating head. Supposed to give a smoother shave. Bummer is the shave isn’t as close due to the floating head. It can be locked into the “fixed” position which helps but precludes buying it in the first place.
However I do find Panasonic to give the closest shave overall with Philips rotary the worst in that respect and Braun in between.
Anyone else disappointed with their “updates”?

I have a Philips which is at least 20 years old. The battery still lasts a full 60mins per charge and it has an lcd display telling you exactly how long left on a charge. It also has a built-in trimmer that you flip up when needed.
I couldn't believe that I wasn't able to just go out and buy one with these features as a present for my elderly father. They now come with detachable trimmer so you have to faf about removing the head to fit it. No good for an old boy.

Agreed. I also have an old Philips with the pop up trimmer. I’ve chucked the head and just kept the body for the trimmer. Yes the battery seems to last forever! Now it’s more a money making exercise I feel.

A DE razor has served me well since the age of 15.

Braun Series 9 is the best shaver on the market currently in my opinion.
