    Is the car an Audi?

Many years ago, as a young and inexperienced driver, I set off on a long drive with snow heaped up on my car. I'd cleared all the windows pretty thoroughly, but I left a few inches of snow on the roof. After an hour or so of course the car interior had heated up nicely, and the snow on the roof had started to melt from underneath. I was on the M1 at the time, and when I applied the brakes - not heavily or suddenly, but firmly - to avoid colliding with some queued -up traffic ahead of me, the snow on the roof slid down over the windscreen, covering it completely while I was still travelling at 30 or 40 mph. Bit of a buttock-clenching moment.

It’s amazing and so dangerous what some people think they can get away with.

Don't forget to clear lights and number plate as well.

Otherwise while you can see out, nobody can see you / ID you in the dark.

I wonder if they could ban him for 3 years.
    Take his licence away.
Make him have to re-take his driving test.

    Impound car and crush.

Probably a good job I’m not a judge.

    Nearly forgot. £5000 fine.

I can recall seeing a dashcam video of a similar situation where a car hasn't been cleared off the snow on its roof.

The dascam footage was from the car traveling behind it on the motorway, when a huge chunk of snow and ice came off flying right into the screen of the car with the dashcam, the impact was so severe it has cracked the windscreen in a similar impact of a brick hitting the windscreen.

A real eye opener moment to the importance of clearing off snow from the whole car before driving.

It's surprising (or not) how many people don't clear the snow off the car roof. It's a risk and may land you 3 points and a £60 fine.😐

Why didn't he claim he believed in a sky fairy and it was his car-burka?

No we don’t, usually takes about 5 miles and a couple of corners for it to come of the trailer roof. So if you see a wagon shedding a snow storm of the top either stay well back or get past quickly. The other thing to watch out for is ice being knocked off bridges when we go under them. Scotland was a nightmare for that on Wednesday.
