Expert on beautiful women wanted - BBC News advert content

Help me out here guys. That trailer/ advert for BBC News "The Future Isn't Cancelled"

Who is the blonde woman first up in the footage?

Why do I want to know? For one, she is beautiful. But mainly it is driving me mad trying to work out where I have seen her before.

She is 1/5 of your age Alec-Sensei. I doubt she has an old Riley for you to fiddle with!

    The very one, James.

And no Kirk, I don't have the necessary functioning spanners to tinker with her Riley - but she's still driving me nuts (intentional) as to where I have seen her before.

Looks a bit like Kim Cattrall if you squint.

I agree, but that is why we are all different I guess and don't all like the same women

    Odd OP, he is pug-ugly.

He is staring up the beauty ladder from the bottom rung.

From his position beauty may start lower down than for some.

And she's still driving him crazy as to where he knows her from.

It's like that snatch of song. I know it, I know it, what song is it?

There you go - what's not to like?

To be fair to the poor girl, she does look much better in the moving clip than on the still.

Some oddly hurtful comments on this thread:

The lady in question is undoubtedly attractive , however she is also what I would describe as very young , I doubt she is in her twenties. She is also a real person and possibly not a professional actor.

As such I would suggest slightly more gentlemenly comments in the interests of courtesy .

OP posts a request for help.

A minority of the replies try to help, the majority bringing humor whist not helping and a few fall into a category that suggests lockdown is really getting to them and they have forgotten all social skills.

I can not help and do not have anything constructive to add Alec, other than do you have a specsavers nearby? :)

Another day in the TZ madhouse...

I still think she's lovely. You do need to see the moving footage tbh.

Mind you; worryingly, I once thought my wife was lovely. You know that adage "before marrying the daughter, go to see the mother"? If I had followed that advice I would have shot her, never mind marry her.

50th anniversary next year, so there must be something about her.......

    Poor girl.

She’s a good looking girl. She’s not striking or stunning in the Ad, but then she’s not dolled up for a night out either.

If she truly represents the average from the areas/towns of the average comments, then I’m pleased for you, but that bears no resemblance to the average I’ve noticed in Britain over the last 30 years. She might look a little plain/natural/girl next door type - but personally I much prefer that to an over made up prima donna.
It's just a matter of time...

If she picks up on the unrequited longing evident in the thread, you might not make it to 50 ;)

When I see men disparaging the looks of women, I always think of a mate of mine, who always did that, but never had a serious girlfriend.

I suspect he remained a virgin well into his 30s, maybe later, and I see now from his FB profile that he's bought a girlfriend on the web.

If you've nothing nice to say, best to remain quiet and accept that, beauty (in women as well as watches) is in the eye of the beholder.

Only slightly related but I think interesting all the same, is I recently did a program of study from statistics 101 to statistics tools and then through to machine learning and AI.

The data set used for the statistics component is from a survey of perceived beauty and the effectiveness of university lecturers. The data provides very interesting insight to age, beauty and the generosity of students scoring their lecturers.

Unsurprisingly the data does show a bias.

TZ'ers are obviously blessed with good looks so that girl might look a little plain to us.

  24. #24
At around the 28sec mark in the video she bares a resemblance to Scarlett Johansson when she was playing Charlotte in Lost In Translation.

Come on, women don’t go for looks - it’s ‘who’s got the hardest to acquire Rolex’ ;)

    Or the most properties works.

I knew a guy in his 60`s, totally bald, ugly bloke to be sure.

BUT he had over 100 properties.

Anyway he hires a cleaner in her early 20`s and oh what a coinsidence they are an item now even though there is a 40 year gap lol.

It couldnt possibly have anything to do with the fact he is loaded.

In my experience most women are primarily motivated by confidence and warmth. Also in my experience highly succesful males usually have both in bucketloads .

Not looking like plug from the Bash Street Kids and cutting your toenails occasionally are just side benefits.

Oi! Who are you calling ugly?

(However, if you are referring to the blurry Mancunian or the ‘tired’ Father Christmas, your point is valid).

That occurred to me on first glance.
Many year ago when I was in the mob, when posted to BAOR you would stay in single accommodation until your wife could join you. One guy arrived who constantly told anyone and everyone how ugly his wife was (he was pretty goofy looking himself) and how he dreaded her joining him. When she finally arrived some weeks later true enough she had a face like a bag of spanners and a shapeless 6' physique that towered over his 5" 7"ish. But she was nowhere near as ugly and vile as he portrayed her, in fact she was quite a nice woman and was popular among the other wives.

They're all actors IMO, probably seen her in an advert somewhere.

I'd give her the GQ 30 seconds.
