I have been using the Autodesk online viewer but i could do with a downloadable program, i dont mind paying but i dont need a full 2d cad package.
I do need to mark up drawings

Autodesk has a free online viewer. I use it all the time! Quite browser/processor intensive, mind.

Edit: oops, saw you'd been using it. Try bluebeam for marking up drawings/DWG.
Draftsight is very AutoCad like & costs £99 a year: there is a 30 day trial version.
