    I can remember writing this on a Facebook post when he was most of the way through his walk.

    Captain Tom, you did us proud the first time round. What you're doing doing now is above and beyond. We thank you for it, but stop now, have a rest and a nice cup of tea.

    Gutted when I heard this. I sooo hoped he would pull through and soldier on.

    What a person he is, and such an inspiration to us all. No matter your age, and even at the very end he managed to do a great thing. If we can have that mentality, he will live on, and inspire many. Bravo Captain Sir Tom.
