    Data Breach?

Received an email from google this morning to inform me that my forum user and password may have been compromised in a data breach. Have changed my password but might be worth a heads up to change your password too

why would google email this about that?

(they could of but equally could have been a phishing email).

I use their password management feature in Chrome. As part of it, they perform a periodical health check

Did the email provide a hyperlink for you to click taking you to a password change? I never use such links and instead go separately to the website in question.

Sounds similar to apple's password manager. It checks passwords and tells you if the password has ever been part of a data breach. If you've reused that password on multiple sites, it is unlikely to be a data breach from TZ.

Worth regularly doing a check here: https://haveibeenpwned.com/

I've just found my email address was part of a data breach in June 2020.

The hyperlink was legitimate and I logged into Google separately on my laptop.

    Ah! that makes more sense.
