    Show us your Damasko

    DSub1

Submarine steel, 300m water resistance, 42mm (43mm inc bezel), 12.9mm thickness and around 98g. All in, a superb watch.

    Looks a Damasko

Only the DA43 remains though i'd like another Ds30

I just have this one now & it's the 2nd time I've owned it.

    DC67 number 28

The first time I owned this watch, I got it directly from Damasko. I'd placed an order before they'd recommenced production many months before & out of the blue got a "your watch is ready for delivery" email. It's one of the very first DC67's they made on recommencement of manufacture.

    I used to have these

This trio took some effort to assemble. It was done whilst Damasko were not making watches - DA37 number 37, DC57 number 88 & DC67 number 15

I also had these that I bought on the way to collecting the full lume trio

Love their watches & if anyone wants to sell a DA38 or DC80 Green, I'm your man.
    Andy

    Wanted - Damasko DC57

Time was I had a DA37 (Sept 2006) and a DC67, back when Eddie was a Damasko agent and they were like hen's teeth to get hold of. They were both bought privately via the forum. Then I decided I had too much white in my life, and I sold the DC67 to a forum member and bought a DA56 from Eddie (Sept 2009). I wonder if the DC67 (No. 0017) is still on the forum? The DA37 has a nice serial No. (0007) but I don't believe it was ever issued ;-) . I still have both the DA37 and the DC56.

A DA47 has been my favoured day to day wearer for some time now, despite managing to break the habit a couple of times in an attempt to wear some others more often.

I've also got this DC56si in black but let a DA46 go a while back. Great value watches if you like the style and they barely show a mark after years of wear.

My most-worn watch is a Damasko - the DC57 I bought here about a year ago. It's just so legible, I love the timer functions, its robustness, its sane size, and the fact it wears well with any strap I fancy:

A matter of months later I decided to splash-out on a bespoke DC80 - I love centre-minutes chronos, and this is the most minimalist and simplest to use that I think is possible, DC66 'hours' bezel, red pip, and red chrono hands to order, it's a big watch and heavy, with a lovely bracelet, but also easy to wear:

If I ever scrape the cash together I'd like a DC56si - possibly another custom jobbie, this time with orange chrono hands:

Im really wanting a DC57....this thread is not helping!!.

It is another piece of the watch consolidation jigsaw.

Is it still a current watch or discontinued?

Still current.... but more expensive now due to the pound’s slide against the euro. I’d be looking for a used example as they really do age very well!

Yes perfect! I thought they where miles apart in size but they look quite similar. Do they feel like they’re the same size on wrist?

I know exactly what you mean! It’s hardly noticeable to be fair. I think the lug to lug and bezel is 1mm larger on the DSub. Here it is on wrist.

    Similar question.

How do the Da35 and 37 compare? ( think I've got the codes right)

Considering picking up a da38 to pair with my DA43.

Think they're different enough to warrant having both.

    Lovely trio btw

Thanks! I’m hoping they are different enough. Will see how I get on with them both.

I think the two you mention would make a fabulous pair.

They do look quite a lot alike. I’ve been looking at the sub but always thought it was too big, I did already have a da46 though. I guess the sub is back on my list :).

    Thanks!

Very pleased to add a DC56 to the collection - worn nothing else since it arrived from a forum member a few days ago:

It had some light scratches in the AR coating - they polished-out with Polywatch, but I decided to keep going and remove all of the AR from the sapphire on the basis that I use these watches for DIY, gardening etc, and it would get scratched again, plus I find the benefit limited: I specified the DC80 to omit it, and have never regretted that. Not a difficult job - used a felt cone in the Dremel for most of it, making sure the crystal didn't get too hot, then a clean cloth by hand to finish the edges.

Damasko should offer some other bold dial colours beyond the bright blue that they do - red, orange and yellow would all be good.

Yes I agree, they do a grey dial version! And of course the blue and green second hand/date versions. I was tempted by the blue dial but don't like the Robby strap but I suppose I could have changed it like I did the black one mine came on.

    Here is mine.

Like a few examples on here this is a Frankenstein model made from various elements of the parts bin that I liked. Damasko were quite happy to build it for me for a very small premium despite referring to my initial request as 'highly irregular' - very German and did make me laugh. As many have noted, the bracelet is ridiculously over-engineered but a thing of wonder nontheless. A lovely watch that is worn often and regularly got comments of admiration.

Interesting both yours and Andy's DC67 already had the 'new' bezel, I always thought that came in later in production. Mine (#11) have the slimmer insert.

Increased the Damasko collection back up to 3 again with this DC66 a few weeks back. I thought it might be a touch big for me so paired it with a lovely chunky Toshi strap to properly test it and I'm pleased to say it feels great. I think it's one of the less marmite and nicest designs Damasko do and the only problem is that it might mean I wear my other watches even less than I do now!

  43. #43
Used to have a DC67Si and a DA44 to go with what's now my only remaining Damasko, a DA36 Black.

    I have one of these...

    And one of these...

Although, I’ve thought about chopping them both in for a DA46 on a bracelet, that would be my ideal watch in terms of size and bullet-proofness! I think it would almost be the catalyst to reduce to a single watch (along with a Garmin and G-shock!)

This may be of interest: worn and wound visited Damasko and made a podcast. They also go into details of what is done in-house, quite impressive.

Damasks is such a great brand - definitely on my list to try some day. Does anyone know if the DA series has been discontinued? Not on the Damasko or Jura websites at the moment. Be a huge shame if so since those are what I consider the classic Damasko models with the ice hardened cases.
