Difficult; they both look the same degree of beauty to me.

    Only you can choose.

    Glycine, far more interesting.

  7. #7
Both look splendid and the Glycine is thoroughly different, being a 24hr dialled piece but the CW looks better. If you have another GMT piece in your collection, ditch the Glycine. If not, ditch the CW.

  8. #8
I would choose the Glycine over the CW, great watch to start with & imho works really well in bronze. Can’t get excited about this particular CW at all I’m afraid.

Glycine. I especially like that the dial printing is also bronze coloured. Makes the whole thing look more coherent.

  11. #11
Assuming both are similar size and comfort, if you haven't got another GMT and need/use the function, keep the Glycine.
Looks-wise, I much prefer the CW.

The Glycine is the more elegant of the two but that additional crown undoes all the good work. The bezel and hands on the CW are not to my taste but it doesn't have the second crown.

For me a tough choice but I would probably go with the Glycine and see if I could live with the second crown.

The CW looks a little more refined in terms of casework, but the hands are a bit over-designed, for me. The GLycine does more, and has the heritage to back up the design, even if it is unrelated to the current ownership.
    Glycine it is for me,

Glycine for me, now if you’d bought the 40mm c ward with the ombré dial I’d have picked that

Looks like I'm with the majority for a change, Glycine for me between those two, more interesting design imo.

  17. #17
I prefer the case lugs on the CW, but everything else on the Glycine. Well, maybe not the additional crown housing, but overall it’s the Glycine for me.
It's just a matter of time...

    Is the Glycine's dial brown?

If it is, I'd have to take the CW, although aside from the dial colour (and the second crown, now I look again), I prefer the Glycine.

CW for me purely on looks.
Glycine is a bit more interesting but looks a bit fussy with the two 24hr sections.

Glycine for me. To me the Glycine looks like a Glycine, the CW looks like an Omega.

Glycine all day long, it's a really handsome and distinctive wristwatch.

That era of CW Tridents leaves me stone cold.

On looks it would have to be the CW for me, Glycine just to fussy.

Glycine is leagues ahead. Look at the handset on the CW! What's that all about?

Glycine every time. It has history behind it and it is prettier.

Glycine because it looks cool and hard.

The CW just looks prissy and whiny.

Glycine for me as well. I don’t like the bezel on the CW. Too in your face for my liking.

I’d prefer the Glycine (has pre invicta takeover logo, nice) even though, to me the lugs are a bit long.
I like the CW but find the hands too fussy for me.
I’d love a bronze watch but haven’t quite found the right one for me yet

Glycine had changed its logo to the wings 18 months before the Invicta takeover, just saying.

I still prefer the old one though.

Pleased so many people have commented. I've always wondered why people put the "which one should I keep" posts cos in the end you should keep the one you prefer. But between these two I love them both, but in different ways.

    CW
    43mm across bezel
    13.5mm Deep
    22mm lugs
    600mm WR
    Good Lume throughout the night

I see some comments about the handset. That is one of the things I really like about the CW. They are sort of cathedral but not quite. I must admit I am of an age that tends to like more vintage looks (or faux vintage, I even like steampunk!!) Saying that I see that Bremont have favoured the shape, or very similar, on some of their models so maybe more contemporary than I first thought. I think its the dial colour that really pulls me with this watch, its a flat dark blue that seems to go through many shades in different lights, sometimes looking a definite blue but at other times almost black. It really does complement the bronze colour. Saying that I would say it goes best with clean bronze as opposed to when it darkens.

    Glycine Airman
    44mm across bezel
    12.3mm Deep
    22mm Lugs
    100mm WR
    Excellent Lume throughout the night

Having owned a few Glycine watches I've always found them to be well built and finished. I was disappointed however with a previous Airman version (double 12, 42mm) that I had. It felt a little cheap and flimsy. This Bronze version however has restored my love of the brand. It may be down to the bronze but it feels a substantial watch and at 44mm I think the size suits the model better than the smaller versions. This version has a normal 12 hour handset so easy to read at a glance yet has the 24 hour hand (nicely tipped in red) and 2 24 hour tracks, one on the dial, and the other on the bezel. So a TRUE 3 time zone watch (as opposed to another well known make that says it has...but hasn't...). I also like the iconic and quirky bezel stop. Talk about over engineering!! The dial on this one (Nicknamed "Cappuccino") is a sort of Fume finish in dark golden brown fading to very dark at the edges.

So I love them both. Have read the comments, and also seen that the Glycine trounced the polls. I think I have come to the decision that I prefer the Glycine features and build quality but prefer the dial colour of the CW.

    Conclusion:

If the Glycine was the blue dialled version of this model I would keep it but as is the CW will be the keeper! (but for how long...???)

I like the hands on the CW which I think are reminiscent of several older models, such as

There’s the excellent 40mm version of the cw in bronze on sc with 2 straps that’s at a very competitive price, just get that you won’t be disappointed

I find it hard to agree with you Red, largely because I can’t stand Yachtmaster-style bezels. It would be the Glycine for me.

The Glycine for me very day of the week. Far better looking watch imho and I could never wear a watch with the name Christopher Ward on the dial (and that is nothing against the brand).

    Glycene all day everyday

All’s well that ends well. I would have chosen the Glycene as well.
