I got 18% off my Snowflake. Probably more can be had, but I’m far too British to haggle.
Evening gents,
I've been looking at a few Grand Seiko models recently.
What do you think are realistic expectations of a discount buying new ?
Cheers,
maseman

Timely thread. I was on the verge of asking the same question myself.
Don’t suppose the GS dealer in Leeds is known as willing to negotiate? If/when they open up again. I need to see one in the flesh and try one on as I’ve never owned a GS before. Look perfect on paper and YouTube though.
I'd be quite interested in hearing some values too, as well as what could be expected on the Seiko LX range.

In my recent experience this GS AD has a positive attitude to negotiation and will do what is necessary to try and secure a deal. They are quite well known on here as a big Breitling dealer.
They already have a few models listed with 20% off.

I got just over 20% off when I bought my snowflake.
Thanks guys.
I’ve found Jura pretty accommodating.
I’ve been offered 15% over the phone from one dealer, I reckon they may go a little more if I pushed...
If it wasn’t so thick I’d pull the trigger...

Did pretty well I think.
A SBGJ 013 at just over 28% off RRP.

I think it all depends on which particular model you are after.
I just bought one of these SLGH003 and managed to get absolutely no discount—sadly

Yeah it really varies by model. I’ve been told in no uncertain terms that if I want an SBGA413 there won’t be a discount. The AD simply doesn’t have to discount that model since it’s guaranteed to sell. More common models definitely can be had with a discount.
I find that if you get in really early, before they know how popular a particular line will be, you may be more likely to get a discount. But as others have said it depends on so many variables: popularity, part of the country, the sales manager’s target, whether you buy then and there, AD relationship etc

I was offered 24% recently on a GS GMT quartz from a UK AD.
I was looking at the White Birch at Francis and Gaye, which is listed at list price.

They only have one in stock, do you think they would discount?
I think it's only just come out and most dealers don't have any stock yet and if they only have one then I guess they don't need to discount.
Edit: I've pinged an e-mail to their customer services, but not expecting any great results. Logically they are only going to reduce something that they are keen to move on.
