Lots of free ones - but I think they are only to allow you to read pdf docs
For editing I’m not sure
Adobe seems to have taken a nosedive off my PC. It was preinstalled and I have no installation discs. When I look for Adobe on the net it is all to pay for. I only occasionally use PDF so don't really want to pay for it. Any suggestions folks?

Foxit has been my go-to for a number of years now
The reader software is free to download here:
https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/
If you need to do more, such as export PDFs, edit them, etc. then you may need the pro version which is paid for.
Thanks folks. Adobe now reinstalled as a reader. (Go with what you know):) . Don't know what happened to it. It just went and wouldn't download yesterday and kept freezing. All back up and running OK now. Thanks to all. Much appreciated.
I use free PDFill. Can't do real editing but great for simple tasks like merging/deleting/re-ordering pages or adding headers/footers (including page numbering).
I have also tried the full Acrobat but never found editing at all easy.
PDF24 is good for merging and creating but won't do editing.

In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
I use PDF X-Change viewer (now superceded by 'editor') I found foxit to cause slowdown on my pc but this one is fine. Allows basic editing / annotation of a PDF - editor looks to actually allow creation although most of my PDF's are created via word.
Quite a few web based ones BUT I have never used them as you are uploading your documents to their servers and I don’t really like that idea for obvious reasons.
