Maybe my empathy is messed up but nothing hits me harder than the loss of a dog. My sympathies.
Thank you Guys....
I've added a suitable tribute picture of her now ( & slightly edited the original text - had a very large scotch on the go at the time ! ).
Best Neil

Neil, my sincere sympathy for your loss.
Lovely picture.
I miss my lost girls everyday,
But their memories last forever
and leave Paw prints on your heart.
Run free Flo...
Losing a pet/best friend/companion is one of hardest things to get over. I lost my Chocolate Lab nearly 5 years ago, I’m not ashamed to say he still brings a tear to my eye thinking about him.
RIP Florence x
My condolences, but Florence had a good long and happy life.
It's always hard when they go.
So sorry to hear that, I bet she had her best life possible with you though.
Their loss is the price we pay for their love.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Bless her! She looked a lovely dog, and had a good innings as well.
Doesn’t make it any easier I know, but I’m sure she loved having you around as much as you did her.
Really sorry to read of your loss, its so hard it really is, she looked a beauty.
Ah, so sorry to hear of your sad loss.
As has already been said, I bet she had the best life with you, she looks so sweet.
I've been through this experience twice over the last 30 years and I still feel the grief, but it helps to remember all the fun, love and loyalty given to each other.
Andy
RIP Florence,

It’s always hard to lose a family pet, and I’m sorry for your loss of Florence.
But I’ll bet she had a great life, was loved and spoiled just as it should be. Remember the good times. Remember what a happy life she had.
Neil, what a beautiful girl. Our dogs really do make our lives complete. I miss the dogs in my life more than I miss the people in my life.
I’m so sorry. Some of my best friends have been dogs. They break your heart but life would be so much worse without them.
Sorry to hear of OPs loss, at 14 he had a good innings but that’s scant consolation at the moment.
I don’t own a dog but I look after one frequently, stepdaughters Labrador (Ozzy) spends lots of time with us, had his first doggy sleepover in our new home last night. He’s 7 so he should have a good few years left, but the thought of losing him does cross my mind, he’s a lovely dog and we’ll be heartbroken when his time comes.
I’d forgotten how attached owners become to their pets, folks who don’t have pets overlook this, they really do become one of the family.
Sad news. She looks like she was a lovely dog. Think of the good times.
Gutted for your loss. So very tough when we have to say goodbye.
So sorry to read of your loss Neil. Florence looks wonderful in your picture - I hope you remember the good times fondly.
RIP Florence
Sorry for your loss. A day I’m dreading myself. All the best
Sorry for your loss OP, it's amazing the bond dogs make with people/families. They really are man's best friend.
P.S. only visited this thread after you edited it - initially thought it was a post about the city.
Really sorry to hear this, just looking at my little Ralphy (miniature Schnauzer) and I cant bear the thought.
Just try to remember all her quirks..
