    Ressence watches

Been looking at these online, anyone here actually handled/owned one?

    Quirky but interesting.

Further proof that the more expensive the watch, the harder it is to tell the time.

I quite like them....fascinating dial amazing piece of engineering..

But......if you bought one a few things to factor in....it will i think be near impossible to cash in..

And if it breaks and lets say Ressence are no longer about ....that could be a challenge...who would dare open it or try to fix / service it ?

    Not being negative..just realistic

There are several threads on this
    Here is mine: https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...light=Ressence
It is not for everyone. I enjoyed mine and regret having traded it though it was for a special watch.

This is exactly what has put me off. I really like the look of them, and the creativity that is behind their approach, but at the end of the day it is a lot of money to be tied up in a watch that would be very difficult to shift if needed. Will they age well? Not sure.

I feel much the same, interesting watches, but a risky purchase.

If I was rich, I'd have one, but I'm not ...

Great thread, thank you for sharing. The 5 looks fantastic. Obviously you got it at a very impressive price - how did the sale/swap of it go in terms of value?

Eventually traded it for a very LE YG Anniversary Speedmaster which I still have. One of 300.

I think they're all rather good looking in their own way, and would very much like to someday own one. However, I'd treat them like an exotic custom-built supercar given the unique servicing requirements and issues if, as noted above, the manufacture was to close: a really frivolous purchase with the expectation that I'd lose quite a bit of money during ownership.

Excuse me mate, have you got the time?

Yeah, hold on... 10 past... no sorry, 10 to... 5? Wait, no, that's the date... 10 to 4? I'm at least 80% sure it's Wednesday if that's any help?

    They are amazing.

Great engineering, great to look at, and very legible. The oil filled effect is even better in your hand.

I'd have one in a heartbeat and don't understand the negativity shown in this thread. I'd have one over any watch you could buy in a provincial shopping centre.

I’d have most other watches as to what you could buy in a ‘provincial shopping centre’, still makes the Ressence a risky bet for the money though

"Ressence makes some of the most unique design watches, and this new one is a welcome addition, tastefully done in olive green. However, I have heard from multiple owners Ressence watches are not the most reliable timepieces. At this price point, I would expect better reliability."

A good video, with lots of detail on the Ressence, has been posted by Watchfinder.

Love 'em or loathe 'em, this goes some way to explain why they cost what they do.

A lot of clever and original engineering in a Ressence.

Wow, love the idea, just not wild about the aesthetic.
