Thread: NFL Playoffs

Going with the Bucs based on who’s missing on the OL for Chiefs, and Brady being the qb.

Happy that it’s Nantz and Romo commentary, definitely my preferred pairing

Jup agree on the commentary - cannot wait for this to kick off!

Really looking forward to this, one of the most compelling Super Bowls in years for me. Let's see if Brady can start quick - as good as the Chiefs are, wouldn't want to bet against Brady.

Chiefs not looking anywhere near as comfortable as people said they would. Bucks will just grow in confidence if this continues

They need in my mind 3 touchdowns before half time and contain the Chiefs to a couple of field goals. Mahomes will not be that contained for an entire game!

It was, but for everything else not really going for the Chiefs, not settling at all - Mahomes is adjusting to the lack of pocket well, but things like the Kelce drop and lots of penalties is not good.

Incompletions and penalties hurting the Chiefs here. Need some discipline and big plays on this drive from their defence to keep the Bucs close.

Silly ill discipline - so much holding and offsides, negating some otherwise good defense. Shocking, shocking, shockong! If Kansas escape this half only 14-3 down, they'll be very happy.

  15. #115
Just when you think KC aren't going to be punished for their defensive ill discipline - offside on a field goal. No excuse.

Yeah, it's actually disappointing watching a great team be this sloppy

And more ill discipline leads to another touchdown. The Officials have been a bit tough, but they're obvious enough. And another one due on kick-off. Chiefs deserve to lose unless they clean up at half time (as much as I hate seeing Brady win another).

(well as a Chargers fan, I'm kinda ok with Kansas not winning too )

  20. #120
Why did KC call that time out? Mahomes has it all to do, but if anyone can...

Wow, Brady is playing great but the whole buccs team is on it. Who had chiefs with no TDs in the first half!!

Bucs getting through the Chiefs OL too easy, and the defence lost the plot a little for that last couple of minutes

Chiefs get ball in 3rd, need points on that drive

Brady playing like Brady. But Bucs have had half their yards in penalties. Cut those out and the game closes up - if the Chiefs can get Hill in the game.

Well it feels like that last chiefs charge was the best they were going to play today and got nothing.

I'll be waking my daughter up tomorrow with the news her team won the Superbowl.

That’s a great way to start her week! Bucs defence have shut down Mahomes and Hill and Brady has been masterful.

Just finished my 9 year kid’s maths lesson on just over 4 hours sleep.

Might not have been the classic, shoot out type game that people expected/wanted but I enjoyed it. Tactically, it was really enjoyable and the Bucs got it spot on. Maybe not helped by Mahomes not being 100% fit but sure there were others out there who weren’t as well.

Think the NFL did really well to get the season done, enjoyed the season. Roll on the draft now.

I thought it was a great game, watching the greatest of all time be that good should always be a pleasure.

Now the draft is something that has always eluded me. What should I read/watch to get up to speed?

I just tend to read stuff online, listen to the shows on sky, particularly the daily GMFB and the talk show in the evenings. Watched some college games over past year or two, so get to know some of the names but I'm no where near an authority on it. So many do mock drafts, not at that stage yet.

Watched bits of it last year, was quite interesting so will do the same this year, think its towards the end of April over 3 days. Just gives another NFL fix in the off season :)

As said check out the college football stars. The combine used to help showcase/decide on the talent has been cancelled this year due to Covid. Worse team overall get the first pick of player. Then it is all complicated by teams trading off picks. I'd say watch "Draft Day" the movie with Kevin Costner as it is quite entertaining and gives you (an albeit showbized) view of what goes on.

This year the next potential superstar QB in Trevor Lawrence goes on the block.

I'm not an NFL fan, thus don't really know much about the game, but as a casual observer I really enjoyed the Superbowl.

Whilst all positions played their part, like many I found the clash of QB styles particularly fascinating: the leadership, ruthless efficiency and precision kill-shots from veteran Brady vs. the elusive mobility of youngster Mahomes and his astonishing ability to throw accurate howitzer balls from any angle even when seemingly off-balance.

I thought the BBC coverage was terrific too.

Both the NFL & NCAA had good final games this year. I'm biased on the later, though I doubt anyone will challenge the dominance of bama this year.

    Re the draft.....
    1) there are always loads of busts
    2) NFL GMs are Ermmmm, hindsight is a word that they have tattooed onto their arms. Just looka t the drafts pick over the years.
    3) the draft pick ranking does not always relate to the best player left on the board
    4) get into college ball, it's great.
    5) who's up for a nfl fantasy league next year?
    6) always pick alamaba WRs they dominate

First Super Bowl I’ve watched since ‘The Fridge” and the Chicago Bears back in the 80’s...

Been hearing all week about the 2 QB’s and how Mahomes will beat down Tom Brady’s team...

Well that didn’t happen and the best team won, for me the Tampa defence will never play a game as good a that again in their lives, they were unbelievable.

Have to say about Mahomes though that some of his play’s and running and the throws which were cm’s away from been TD’s when he’s getting chased and tackled were breathtaking, but i guess that’s what defines greatness when you have Tom Brady making the play’s count...

    Great game and I’m hooked...

Ok so I'm currently watching draft Day

I've researched and I know what pick we have in the draft

I feel like I need to get more into our full squad, understand where our weaknesses are to get excited about who we might pick in the draft.

I now need to pick a collage football team

    Think I'm hooked

Go on YouTube and search college football crowds. Mad attendances and atmosphere, definitely want to try and get to a college game over there some time

Who's still up for fanasty football?

I've done 2/4 of my normally drafts so far.

For the TZ one we have the option of
    dynasty, keeper or redraft.

Redraft = new squads every year via draft
Keeper = X amount of players kept, the rest come via draft
Dynasty = squads kepts unless dropped or traded, subsequentdrafts are only for rookies and you need to drop from squad
