    A fox query

Watched this morning a fox with an ex wood pigeon in its mouth happily bury it in my garden in London just where the Mrs plans to plant a tree.
Will it be back to collect or am I going to have to be brave and fish it out? Im sure country folk could advise.....

I am not aware of any incidents of dead wood pigeons attacking people, so I would say that it is safe to dig it up and transfer it to a suitable waste receptacle.
I would advise against eating the pigeon.

just dig it up or plant it somewhere else, i doubt the fox is going to be knocking on your door asking wtf has happened to it.

Let the fox dig it up and enjoy its meal. Its nature.

As others have said I would expect it to be gone by tomorrow. We watched a fox bury a big dead rat in our garden years ago and it was gone the next day.

I buried a deceased pheasant in our garden and, mindful of foxes, I buried it deep.
It was gone the next morning.

I like how you thought it necessary to describe it as deceased. 😁
    Cheers..

The fact it disappeared so quickly possibly suggests otherwise. Or foxes have access to spades.

Do I detect a confused relationship between peasantry and pheasant tree?

I remember years ago a guy I worked with asking me if I could go to Chester Zoo and ask for a bag of Lion poo for him (I lived about 5 miles from the zoo at the time). He wanted to spread it on his lawn because he claimed that foxes were afraid of lions and would stay away.

I was always intrigued how a fox in West Kirby on the Wirral would know about lions, but true story...

I take it you've not watched The Flying Dead (with Andrew Lincoln's Sparrow)?

Wee in a plastic bottle or something and then sprinkle it around the garden boundary. Works a treat.

Well no...I didnt. Made sure it was dark though so as not to upset the curtain twitchers.

I always had this image of a fox casually trotting around in the middle of the night, reaching this guy's house and then thinking I'm not going in there, he's got lions in his garden
