    Rolex Green OP 34mm

    Hi Guys

I have loads of time on my hands at the moment due to weather and such so been giving some of my watches a quick light wipe with the Cape Cod cloths. I thought i would give the wifes Rolex OP a light polish not that it needed it as she rarely wears it. While wipe the case sides the flashing of the green when the light hits it is beautiful, not a colour have took much notice of but my wife loves it. What do you guys think.

I think its a great dial colour. Ive never really been a fan of the contrasting coloured markers on these OPs though.

I think it is a great colour and especially suits a Rolex. I'd wear it.

Tried this on so many times when going through airports. Every time wishing it was 2 or 3mm bigger. Lovely dial and a shame they never did it larger, and in fact don't even do it in this size now I believe.

Lovely watch, shame she doesn't wear it.

My wife is the same, she'd wear an Apple watch over a Patek without a second thought. Then again I shouldn't complain, if she had better taste she wouldn't have married me

My partner wears this watch. For a year or so she seemed wary of a ‘Rolex’, fearful of thieves and feeling it was too ‘posh’. But gradually she has grown to love it , that olive colour, and wears it every day. She’s accepted it is just a good, strong, watch .

It’s taught me that some people find the Rolex image quite off putting. It takes time for them to see it as an everyday, watch without airs and graces.

I love it apart from the orange dots. If it didn’t have those and was 36mm I think I’d have one. Much nicer than the current crop of 36mm OPs with the double markers and bright colours.

I think that's lovely. I wore a charcoal sunburst dial 34mm Air King for much of my working life and I would happily have worn that too (still would!).

Lovely colour dial, and wore like a 36mm IMO when I tried it on a year or so back.

You seem to have done a cracking job with the cape cod too!

That is a watch that I have been after for myself for quite some time! prices of used ones have now become silly, so it is not likely i will get one.

    It looks fantastic.

If we are going out it’s her go to watch, but over the past year we have not done much of that

I am quite good with the Cape Cod lots of patience. If you rub lightly it will remove any number of fine and hairline scratches scuffs etc, but only the fine ones. Done carefully it will bring a nice lustre too the polished case side’s bringing the watch looking like new.

I have to say the polished areas of the watch look flawless.

Do you use tape to protect the brushed areas or do you just avoid getting close to the margin?

On the OP it’s only the case sides as the top of the lugs are Brushed. On my Datejust which is the same case the top of the lugs are polished and where they abut to the bracelet which the outer parts are brushed I do tape up. Used sparingly and carefully you can bring polished surfaces on watches back to looking as new.

The watch that should have been made in 39mm. I tried one on at an Ad and even the sales assistant said it was too small for me :(

Love the OP and the green dial. Unfortunately I don't like the contrasting colour on the hours markers of these models, so it have to be the black or white dialled version for me which I have been strongly considering.
