    AP Royal Oak Offshore image

I had a spare hour today to photograph my new AP in the spare room. Nothing adventurous, just a basic 2 light set up( flash) to get the image.

Very nice. The 26480 is my favourite AP chronograph 🥰

That's nicely done, actually. Judging by the angle of the watch face I imagine you had your work cut out to avoid the lights reflecting on the glass and/or affecting the contrast of the dial. That's always the biggest challenge, in my experience, and some watches are so difficult that it can become easier to make some glare from the lights a feature of the shot instead.

I'd love to be able to take a picture like that of my new watch.

    Well done, it looks amazing.

I had a studio flash which was double defused to the camera left, bounced another flash high camera right through a single diffusion but may have been better lowering that one to highlight the full lower section of the bezel, its all trial and error just now..

    thanks for the comments folks.

Its all new to me as well as I'm not used to any product photography. I usually photograph wildllife and do the odd job for BBC Countryfile etc

Could this type of picture be taken with a mobile phone camera?

If you set it up correctly. A bit of window light one one side( maybe with a thin white curtain etc) and a bit of white card on the other to reflect a little light on the opposite side would be a good place to start.

Tricky if flash are used. Maybe,if using constant light sources - but effects may be different. Phones are just not so easy to control but apps are available to manage ISO, “Aperture”, shutter speed, zoom, exposure compensation each manually controlled. Tripod fixture and delay shutter advised.

Lovely photo. I don’t know how easy it would be, but it would to see a really good wrist shot. Without seeing the watch in person it’s hard to see how it would actually wear.

    Great photo OP.

Isn't this the same watch that people were questioning only a week ago?

Wow what a clean shot. The gentle light on rubber strap and case surfaces is superb
