    RIP MF Doom

Rapper MF Doom has died, only 49. A unique talent.

Aw that is so sad to hear - really loved his work. Only last week I was remarking on his skills while listening to his new track along with badbadnotgood - "the chocolate conquistadors"

Madvillany is still up there as one of the great albums. If you enjoy that sort of old school hip hop/rap, worth checking out loyle carner's artist in residence series - MF DOOM gets featured in a few (like with Madlib) - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00...pisodes/player

    That is sad, RIP chap.

A great talent & a regular of my playlists, quite shocked actually, 49 is no age at all.

Not aware of his work, will rectify that tomorrow but with TY passing earlier in the year it’s a bad year for U.K. Rap.

Damn RIP DOOM. One of my favourites.

The track Cellz is what got me into Bukowski

I can honestly say - This was the first I had heard of him.

Seems he died back in October but his family never announced it? Very strange.

My 20 year old son couldn’t believe I’d never heard of him either, sadly I’ve lost count of the amount of rappers (that’s probably the wrong term here so apologies) who seem to have died recently, many of them young, often in their teens or twenties

I have never heard of him before seeing this on the news yesterday. Any idea what the delay was between date of death and announcement? Curious why it would take so long.

He was notoriously a private individual. He spent much effort is protecting his anonymity. I am only speculating, but for me, it's probably that.

For me this is sad sad news. I used to be a huge rap fan, and as my music tastes changed/evolved I never stopped loving his work.

His catalogue of work was incredibly varied. Each album/persona was unique, but easily identifiable as him.

I'm very happy to have seen him perform at Camden Roundhouse with Wu-Tang.

A massive talent the hip-hop world will miss!

Haha, yes. No idea if I can confirm that, and it's sad that he blighted his career in that way.

Found this YouTube channel, as the title of the video says, it highlights all the rhymes in a rap. Really showcases his talent.

A talent the likes of which doesn't appear often.

Feel pretty privileged to have seen him live on a few occasions.
