As has become tradition I have just put Grandad’s watch on for Christmas.

Thanks, he was a lovely man with great values, this watch (and an 80s Seamaster) are the only things I have of his.

I only wear this watch over Christmas, perhaps I should give it more use.

It was the watch that brought me to this forum looking for advice on service and renovation and it was brought back to this condition by the excellent work of Paul Walker on this forum.

It’s in my will to go to my nephew.

I might not wear a watch, it’s not like I have to be any where on time or we will have to prepare for visitors in tier 4
It highly unlikely I will get dressed to be honest ;-)

This for me on Christmas day because weve bought our Son a 16710, but decided to go with leather so he can see a different look.

I don't want to be the Grinch here, but wouldn't the Christmas thread be better posted on 25th December?

That's a very fine watch to wear on the 25th, OP. When my father passed away a number of years back my brother had his watch, a Garrard that was given to him for his length of service working for Ford, and I have dad's St. Christopher and chain as that's what I remember him wearing more than any other jewellery.

I don't really know what I'll be wearing on Xmas day. If my OceanX turns up tomorrow as it's scheduled to then probably that, if not I may just not bother with a watch at all.

I’ll dig out one of my vintage Omegas for Christmas Day, it’ll be a full day without DIY work so the Casio F91 gets a rest!

It'll be nice to get smartened up for a day so a decent watch is a must. I seem to have spent the last 16 weeks wearing scruffy old clothes/ overalls.

I’ll be wearing the the Tudor Blackbay I gave my friend while he was battling cancer. I bought it on our last holiday together in Nice and gifted it to him, I also had it engraved with something appropriate

This has become my Christmas Day watch over the last 5 or so years, though it comes off when I start cooking and goes back on to eat!

This for me, as I think Christmas day needs a bit of bling - especially this year.

Have a great day, everyone, with a particular thought for those spending it alone.

During the long strange day's of 2020 I've foolishly added another 5 watches to my collection, now I'll freely admit that I tend towards wearing a watch on holidays, weekends and general celebrations, and as we've had no holidays and nothing to celebrate, I'll be sticking with the programme, bare wrist for me.

Me too. I mentioned to the AD a watch I bought from them was squeaking from the lugs when it was new but a couple of hot showers and it went. They were shocked I wore any watch in the shower and double shocked when I said I wear one in bed too.

The only time I don't wear a watch is when I'm weighing myself!

I think the idea of wearing a watch in memory of a loved one is great.
I tend to do the same with my Grandfathers Longines when going to formal but boozy dinners. He was a bit of a bon viveur and would love the idea he was coming with me. Sadly no such opportunities this year.

Always this at Christmas in memory of my dear old Nan....

Bought with the money she left me in her will, she was always the biggest kid ever at Christmas so not been the same without her but the memories live on.

    Have a great Christmas everyone.

This one for me, decided it was going on this morning and I'm wearing it till Monday. Doesn't get enough wear time and I fall in love with it everytime it's on my wrist.
    Merry Xmas everyone.
