Thanks, not as crisp and fresh as the new 321 Ed White but hesalite definitely helps the 55 years of patina..

I think she probably used acetone (nail polisher) :)

    That is my suspicion also.

True, but I’d rather have the real thing any day of the week!

I guess that’s what I like most about acrylic, that it ages with the rest of the watch.

I totally respect those who want sapphire with it’s superb properties, but I’ve come to realise that I don’t want a watch where the crystal stays pristine and the rest of the watch patinas.

There was one up near the top 😉

Thank you. My birth year watch inherited from my late father who bought it in 1953 to mark that occasion. Hand wind movement and solid gold case and back. Must have cost him a few bob, I feel quite humble and honoured...

Ah! Good point! I went quite quickly through them. As tax, here is a Marathon Navigator. Don't understand why they changed to a sapphire crystal on the newer model, I understood that acrylic was in the spec to make it resistant to pressure changes.

Seiko 6106. In cracking condition for its age, not sure if the plexiglass is original.
