Evening all
My father in law has come across this this old
Quartz Omega that probably hasn’t been worn/used for around 17 years or so. Been sitting in the case.
Apologies for poor photos he’s sent me, I can try and get some better ones next week but was initially just wondering whether it’s genuine?
Any thoughts opinions welcome as I know nothing about Omega.
Thanks
Chris

Great, thank you for confirming . Any idea as to value for insurance purposes ?
Is it worth servicing or would you just stick a battery in and see how it goes ?
If it's been sitting around with a old battery in , it may have leaked !
You will have to open it up and see if there's any damage .
Not particularly desirable, unfortunately.
Check completed auctions for similar models.

I’d try a battery and see how it goes, as you have suggested.

Gold plated, integral Milanese bracelet with obvious signs of damage close to the watch head (that’s the weak area with this design), this watch is worth very little.
If the movement runs that’s where the value lies, as a parts donor for more desirable watches that used the same movement.
I really wouldn’t worry about insurance value!
Thank you for all the comments gents.
I’ll let him know it’s not worth more than the sentimental value .
