Thread: A grail and a pause in the journey.

A grail and a pause in the journey.

After a fairly lengthy search and the sale of one Blancpain to fund another, I have ended up with a true grail and a final sense of watch calm. I feel confident it could be a 'one' watch.

Sourced from another forum member (thanks Jon), I have added a 2003 Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 50th Anniversary.

I have the Series II but this man's photos are way better than anything I could come up with:

Wow, what an absolute stunner of a watch and 40.5mm as well, doesn't get any better.

Did yours come with all the extra bits and bobs pictured in the link.

    Well done and enjoy.

Lovely - you just can't go wrong with the smaller-cased FFs, and like all the models they're light years ahead of other divers in terms quality and finish. I hadn't seen that rubber before; have you got one with yours and - if you have - can you upload some photos please?

Congratulations on a rare beast - it is probably the one watch (any of the three series) I would break my embargo on 'new' watches for

What a beautiful watch, congratulation. They are even more lovely in the flesh as the finish and build quality is superb.

Very nice, and well worth the journey. [I'm still waiting for a 42mm FF, that would be my ideal.]

    Very nice.

I really liked the Hodinkee previous version one. But wouldn’t want the a Hodinkee branding.

Is that the world's first rubber bund strap - it looks excellent but I wonder how soon it starts to feel a bit Betty Swollocks.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Not a fan of the rubber band but that is quite a special BP

Not a huge fan of the hands. But I would forgive that on the basis of the sensible case size (although 14 mm height is thick isn't it?)

The standard 45mm is just too big, so glad to discover they do 40.3mm version.

    Well done on getting one.
