Help with finding a leather strap 21mm

Hi, I am after quite a specific style of leather strap.

    Something that is:
    Calf leather
    Brown/tan
    Padded
    Slight tapering
    Triangle ends
    Silver polished buckle

It is to fit a 42mm Rado Captain Cook, see pictures.

The strap I Really really want is a Hirsch heritage in brown. The only issue is that is 20 or 22mm only and the Rado is 21mm! (Wish I'd known)

Can anyone recommend any very similar or seller's who might stock similar please?

It has to be a high quality strap that can carry off a thick divers watch.

    Thanks

    Sam

Straps shrink and stretch over time. A 22mm will squeeze in and be fine. I found via my interest in canvas straps that case and strap dimensions are not precise. Eg my PRS-5 Broadarrow has 19mm lugs, except they are actually a fraction larger at 19.12mm. Then take a 20mm Haveston, actually slightly under 20mm, and the difference is then minimal and the strap will fit ok. More critical is the gap between the spring bars and case, if this is too tight then a leather strap will rub and be marked, perhaps even marking the case.

Thanks I can't see anything at UKwatch straps to fit.
I also looked at timefactors, watch gecko and watch obsession.
I could take the chance in the 22mm and hope?!

    Your spec:

    • 21mm
    • Calf leather
    • Brown/tan
    • Padded
    • Slight tapering
    • Triangle ends
    • Silver polished buckle

    RIOS1931

    • Soft Calf Leather
    • Cognac Brown
    • padded - thickness: 5mm tapering to 3mm
    • 18mm stainless steel buckle on 21mm strap
    • truncated triangular ends

You're a hard man to please... OK, the stitching may not be to your taste and / or other aspects of its design. I thought it was close, but maybe you can refine your spec a little as 'close only counts in horseshoes' as the Americans say.

What about asking one of the forum favourites like Pav79 or Stevostraps to make you one?

you are right, pretty much satisfies the criteria, but the colour isn't to my taste. I really want the Hirsch heritage. Never mind.

I might contact the chaps listed above. Is it usually done just via PM?

Pav is my go to strap man also. Quality and a good guy.

If you are down with the kids, have a look on his Instagram (he tends to respond quicker on there also).

You've got a better chance of getting the 22mm strap that you like to fit by using a curved springbar. I've done exactly that with a 21mm-lugged watch myself. I can recommend Swiss Reimagined curved springbars sold via Amazon.

£6.99, that's quite a price for a pair! £0.95 gets you a 10 pack of 1.5mm at Cousins. Even if you go up to 1.8mm at £6.95 it's still a 1/5th of the price. I've been using the Cousins 1.5mm curved in both 20 and 22mm for quite a few months with no problems.

I've also just bought the Cousins curved spring bar pliers and they seem to work remarkably easily.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Thanks everyone for help and suggestions.

I went for the Hirsch heritage that I wanted after seeing it on member from here; learningtofly's thread SOTC 20.

It didn't fit the Rado which is 21 mm and the heritage came in 20 or 22mm. I went for the 22mm with the thought I would make it fit.

It just wouldn't, also the strap comes with a quick release spring bar system which looks like I would have had to do some damage to replace the spring bar pre installed.

I fit it to my Seiko SRP777 modified. It's perfect, none of the 21mm straps suggested or I could find were of equal quality.

The leather has a wonderful brushed effect and such a natural looking colour it was perfect.

I am keeping the Rado on the bracelet as I don't want two leather strap divers.

    Now some pics..
