I purchased this in memory to my late father, who would have had this type of watch issued to him when he served in the British Army and UDR.

Yes these are a very good remake of the original tonneau GS W10 watch, a nice addition to a collection.
Lucky enough to have one of the very fist issued tonneau cased watches supplied to the RN by Hamilton in 1971 under the same NSN as the Smiths, probably one of Mellor's final projects with Hamilton before setting up his own company CWC.
To the OP, the strap really suit its. It's a lovely case shape. I have the T20 (the CWC quartz version in the Tonneau case) and it is a very wearable, low key piece.
