I always use a Stanley blade, never fails.

It can’t be that hard can it? Ditch the Z22 on my newly arrived SKX009 for something better
An hour and a half! Managed to remove one with a Bergeon 6767F, eventually. For the other I tried and failed with the Bergeon, tiny screwdrivers, dental floss. Eventually a combination of No 11 scalpel and the Bergeon finally worked.
And of course the Uncle Seiko replacement had one flanged bar and one shoulder less, unflanged. Too tired at that point to wait for a replacement bar, so I’ve fitted the strap.
Flipping ‘eck
I hate you Seiko

Sounds like you have had fun
I've got this ready for the arrival of my SKX011
Seiko straps always too long for me so a replacement is inevitable, never had issues removing straps before....have I jinxed it now!
I fitted a samurai bracelet this week, it nearly reduced me to tears!

I find when ever removing Seiko fat spring bars using a Bergeon 6767 tool its best to use the 3mm fork the fine fork is a waste of time in my experience.
Dental floss always worked for me but I recommend a second pair of hands to hold the watch to allow equal force. Spring bars of the devil in the absence of drilled lugs. Grrrrrrr.
Very sorry but that’s my springbar tool!
It’s a fabulous tool for normal bars. Brother, I would save you my pain. A thin blade, in my case a small scalpel was an improvement. I hear good things about the smaller Swiss Army Knife blades, in fact I’ve now asked Mrs H to consider adding one to my Xmas list :)

Sharpening the edges of a precision screwdriver using oil and a whetstone provides a decent springbar removal tool.

Took me 90 minutes to put a new strap on my Citizen Orca - neatly ended up at the end of the garden
Well this thread is depressing me! I have a SKX009 coming this week that I want to put on a bracelet. Now I need to get some extra tools!
Just had an SKX009 arrive yesterday, and was expecting a similar battle after previous trials with my SKX007. Happy to say I popped the Z22 off in about 2 mins with a Bergeon 6767f - it was a relatively painless experience with a decent springbar tool

Ha, I had the same issue last night with a 007 was close to just taking a razor to the horrible piece of sh*t Z22. In the end, I gave up with the 6767F and used a beefier tool to pry it off.
Problem is, I also bought a 009 and 011, all on the Z22...
i've never had a problem with the z22, it's seiko bracelets that always give me palpitations, the thick springbars reduce the amount of room for maneuver to almost zero.

The most difficult I have encountered so far is fitting a Strapcode Oyster bracelet to my SKX009. The bracelet is very well made so I suspect the holes in the lugs were not exactly in the right place. Lots of sweat and swearing involved. :)
It's been mentioned before. The way I remove a Seiko rubber with fat bars is with a Stanley type knife due to the tight fit. It's really tight.
I use a Westcott knife. It's superb for jobs like this.
Just received my 011 today
have to admit it did take a few attempts, the strap doesn't have much play at all.
Now ready and waiting for my single pass nato to arrive
I've had a few Seikos previously and all have had similar style straps just way more supple, I'm surprised how rigid this Z22 is
as expected its too long for me and will be replaced imminently. I've been after something 'Orange' for a while and was hard to resist this with the discount
