Why do you ask? I could spend 10 minutes giving a comprehensive answer but I may be answering the wrong question. Are you seeking info on a specific watch?

Perhaps the answer 'two years' will suffice?

It depends on the movement. Also, the first battery fitted when new may not give a full battery life, I think movement manufacturers buy out of date batteries for pennies.

It varies a lot depending on the watch and functions and how of you use things like alarm etc if present.

From my own collection an Oysterquartz lasts a couple of years, my Seiko 7548’s around 5 years and I’ve got an old Tag 2000 that was up to 7 years when I changed it recently.

Not got any better than 2 years out of a Seiko/Pulsar Quartz Chrono, CWC quartz anything up to 4 years and my better half's little Tissot ran for well over 6 years on its factory battery before it stopped.

    Hi Lee

I suggest you research the particular watch you are interested in and see the specification on battery life.
You see, different watches use different internals and therefore the battery life is often different.

A new watch in good condition should give a minimum of 2 years battery life. This depends on several factors, the more info in the question the better the answer.

Lots of modern quartz watches use lithium batteries that have a ten year battery life. My old prs18Q is from 2011 and still on its first battery.
