Thread: The Seriously Ugly Watch Spot

Shocked to see Nautilus & the Aquanaut in this list! Yeah that U boat deserves a certain spot in here though.

I have to agree on the Rolex there. I don't like the watch, but having watched a number of reviews I love the functionality. It's a really clever piece and probably very well made. Just doesn't look great.

I like it, it's a gshock and it's a bit of fun. I've got a pink skeleton(?), don't wear it that much but I like it in the summer with some shorts and a t-shirt.

OK -so basing your statement on "no such thing as coincidence". That's fair enough, if other people encoutered in the same environment were equally vile then maybe it was something else?

Looks like a ball of playdough that has been slammed into the workbench and then they built a watch off of it.

i love these and own a similar model, but i do think the handset is a bit naff compared to others in the seiko range at the same price point.

I think I'd avoid anything that Producer Michael (Blakey) would wear.

They are mostly hideous, and I couldn't afford them anyway

Slightly off topic but I am curious, what justifies the price of these watches?

Same thing that justifies price of most watches.
Distinctive styling, excellent craftsmanship, limited numbers and a cult following.

Pretty much 98% of bronze watches I think are ugly, most look like they where designed by 12 year old pirate fans

They look not much different from H2O watches which are mostly just over a grand, even some of their more limited edition watches are considerably less than these. I dont doubt the quality of the watches I just dont see how they can justify over 3 and 4k I was hoping someone who had one could give me a bit more info.

Is it me or is there something going on with the arm hair? Disturbed as I am by this clump of metal, I find myself more unsettled by the "trimmed" plantation.

While H2O watches are nice, they are a completely different story
I have seen and followed and bought from both brands since inception
Enebi’s founder Alessandro Bettarini has some Panerai connection as he worked for them early on. Since early 2000s he has been making his own watches. There is an obvious overlap with Panerai in styling. They have always used standard ETA movements. Their USP is styling just like Kavenstann,Sarpaneva and VDB.
H20 is a one man operation run by Clemens and he is certainly innovative in terms of design, case technology etc but produces far more watches. He is a bit of character but I get along fine with him.

Yeah, that is odd, I mean, what species did they have to shave to get that arm shot? Was it Harambe's last modelling gig?

Why would you expect to read a thread about seriously ugly watches without it mentioning two of the most egregious examples ever to be allowed out in public? Patek's designers (who have come up with many stunning watches) must hang their heads in shame every time they encounter one of these hideous, lumpen insults to the art of good horological design.

When Zenith lost their way & copied Invicta...

Thankfully, they seem to have rediscovered their design mojo these days.
