    The Seriously Ugly Watch Spot

After that seriously vile Richard Mille watch posted on here, I had an e-mail from Jura about this U-Boat horror...
    https://www.jurawatches.co.uk/collec...eid=4c6de323a7

If that was the only watch available, I'd try another hobby! Apparently its exclusive to Jura, presumably because no-one else want to sell it!

I can't believe that there has ever been another horological abomination quite as bad as this lumpen, hideous monstrosity.

Pah! U-Boat are mere amateurs. I’ll see your U-Boat and raise you an Invicta (or three):

I somehow have a soft spot for Invicta's horrors....they are just so unashamedly gross without even a hint of shame or pretention to tastefulness, you almost forgive them. On the other hand, people like U-boat claim to have some sort of historic military lineage, which just makes the resulting horror worse!

While Invicta will always win any game of "Godawfulugly Top Trumps" by a mile, you have to factor-in the fact they cost about 50p once they are in the inevitable clearance sale, whereas the horrors above from PP and Rolex represent the deposit on a house - and constitute a shortlist-of-shame that needs the hand-grenade-"inspired" Aquanaut adding to it:

That Daytona reminds me of a few years ago when I was trying on a Cameron DSSD at a cruise terminal in the Caribbean and this guy walked into the jewellers, picked it up off the counter and asked the retailer if he had one with diamonds in - then put it down and walked out when he was told they didn't!

That Daytona Leopard is utterly shockingly awful! I'd rather have the U-boat! Or preferably no watch at all....

To think that a group of people across these various companies get paid good money to come up with some of these abominations.

I dont know if you have ever visited the Patek Philippe museum in Geneva but its a wonderful place. Many of the watches are just works of art (A lot of Breguet watches there too) Then you see the Nautilus, its almost jarring as to how ugly it looks

Price should definitely have an input in this, its one thing paying £50 for a fugly watch but £2k/£10k+ just shows money doesn't buy class..

Invicta wouldn't release a watch this ugly...

(Of course, if you have one and love it, carry on doing so - It would be a dull place if all we saw were Submariners and their clones...)

Looking at photos I'd agree with you, but after seeing one in a pawn shop window in Whitby(?) I changed my mind.
Think they look fantastic in the flesh, I'd never wear one though

There are some watches that don’t appeal to me.
    I hardly find them ugly.

    The Seriously Ugly Watch Spot

Would you (Scooby) care to explain to us all why you refer to these people who wear the watch as vile?

What was the sample size for this sweeping generalisation?
It is not a watch one sees everyday.

    Probably 1!!! :0)

Which would bear out the theory that 100% of people who wear them are vile...
