Is it a service dial or a service dial that has been redialled?
Hi all
I was looking a buying a Mark II
The one I was looking at is from 1970 and has a service redial.
Would this be ok? Any concerns about buying one with a service dial?
Thanks DT

Is it a racing dial variant? If so it's fairly common for people to fit service racing dial and handset which are still available. They don't retain the same value as an original racing but personally I prefer the more vibrant looks to alot of the faded racing dials that are around.
Original 1969 dial, I love the look of the original and still think it is vibrant
Better show mine then!
FWIW I think new dials on a vintage watch look a bit odd.
Cheers,
Neil.
Both of the above look superb, my comment was that I prefer them to some of the faded dials(as in the colour all but washed out, usually what you find on the affordable ones these days) . I would take a nice original like either of those all day every day.
And also agree a perfect dial on an old watch looks a bit off. I've considered having the racing dial and handset fitted to my own non-racing Mk2 many times, if ever I did I would have the case professionally refinished at the same time.

My second MKII original T-Swiss Made-T dial. Re-lumed with "aged" superluminova (still got this)
My 1st MKII - Service dial and service hands
My 1st MKII Service Dial - original dial, original hands
Sold the original dial + hands (mistake!)
This was in the days when you could just order Omega dials + hands from Cousins for not much money.
I purchased one earlier this year with a service dial and refurbed case. I love it. The bracelet was a bit shagged out though so I purchased a new omega one £££. I also got the original dial and hands with the sale. Maybe find one that has the original bits too. I think they look great in original dial form and serviced dial form . Good luck:)
FYI both pics are as I/C so the colours etc haven’t been adjusted.
