Is anyone doubting she was involved in starting the fire?

This should be in the bear pit - this sort of thread never ends well in G&D.

What point are you trying to make? We know she was involved and she served time.

I think his point is that it is nowhere near long enough.

Yes exactly, I think the UK justice system is pathetic.

What legal qualifications do you have to pass this judgment?

I remember this case well. It's very hard to know from the press reports the degree to which she was culpable, whether she was under severe emotional pressure from her partner or whatever other mitigating factors might have been in effect. Quite apart from that, she's already suffered the deaths of her children which, irrespective of whether she's to blame or not, was apparently unintentional and most likely a worse punishment than any court could impose.

Therefore I give the justice system the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Dont need to have legal qualifications to know its terrible though.

Someone in my local area had a caution after they were caught on CCTV robbing somebodys flat.

People go on about all these stabbings and im not in the slightest shocked because the people doing it know even if caught they will get a few short years in a soft jail and then they will be straight onto benefits.

This is where you are wrong

But by all means don’t let me stop you. Just think about the training it takes to become a simple solicitor, a QC, a judge.
Then ask yourself why it’s complex for them, with their training and with all the facts, and why it’s simple to you, with only a DM report.

Think that is the English Justice System, and might include Welsh.

    Certainly not UK.

So we need a law degree to have an opinion?

It doesn't need a genius, the jury found her guilty.
