    Parker 51

Can anyone recommend a reseller of vintage Parker 51 pens? Battersea pen home looks expert, but about £175 their pricing is top end. Both vintage fountainpens.co.uk and penworkshop look better value. I’m keeping an eye on eBay, but I’m new to these I think I’d like to go somewhere reliable. Grateful for personal experience

    Cheers

Have you considered Fountain Pen Network? The forum is offline temporarily at the moment, but there were plenty of UK sellers on there when I was avidly collecting fountain pens. Beware eBay, unless you know what you are doing. I bought a P51 frankenpen from there. I still like the pen, but a purist might not.

There used to be fountain pen fayres up and down the country. Obviously a problem until CV19 goes away though.

I can restore them, i used to have about 15 of them lol.
Make sure you get one with a good nib, most of them are worn out now.

A correction to what I said above. The Frankenpen was a Parker Vacumatic, not a 51.

Try a wtb here - there seem to be lots of Parker fans.

I picked up a lovely grey 51 with gold lid for £35 or so on eBay not so long ago, it had never been inked. There are good ones on eBay, just be careful.

One thing to look out for is the jewel on the top. If it's black it's a smaller, economy model with steel instead of gold nib. I have one, it is just as good as my standard 51s to write with but not worth as much.

Search for Parker 51 cap. You might have some luck, especially on eBay.
