Quite like this sandwich dial combo, a simple bezel and strap swap on an Amphibia can have a fairly dramatic effect.

Don't know if these have already been posted, but worth a gander if you like Russian watches.

Probably this one as it's the first one I completely restored and serviced:

You ain't seen nothing: I help moderate the biggest Vostok group on Facebook (12,000 members) and there are some truly mindblowing collections there.

Liking that. The maroon/chocolate insert bezel especially. Modded?

    Russian Watches - I'm a convert!

My only BOCTOK from the CCCP era. Unfortunately not a space watch, 60th anniversary tomorrow. Yuri Gagarin was a childhood hero (together with Denis Law, Steve Zodiac and Mike Mercury).

More Vostok fun, as another new bezel arrived from Germany for my Komandirskie 650537.

I decided to make a Vostok "LV" while the previous GMT bezel looked good, it didn’t make much horological sense, given there’s no GMT hand. After tweaking the tension ring to provide more friction, so that the bevel has at least a chance of staying put, I eventually managed to fit the new bezel.

I must say I think this combination works much better than the GMT. Not only in terms of practicality but also looks. The combination of the olive or LV bezel, with the silver of the stainless steel and markers, with the black of the dial and the red of the second hand and Soviet star all work very well together.

Sadly for this Komandirskie, at the moment, it’s not being given any wrist time due to the arrival of my Seiko MM200. Once the honeymoon’s over however …

Like what you've done there, looks a treat with the dark moss green bezel.

TYVM - it was officially described as "olive" and is slightly darker than the sales shots, but it's still an improvement on the black GMT I fitted previously.
