Here ya go. Wow. My guess is the wife said the watch needed to go. He tells her, "sure, I'll put it up for sale on ebay". He cleverly picks a price point which will ensure he gets to keep the watch, while practicing in the mirror "I tried honey, honest. guess no one's buying right now".

I had to jump on this. I regretted not trying for the silver jubilee when it was first available and have been looking ever since. It seems a bit banged up, but nothing too bad. It just means it got some mileage before it reached me :) .
Hopefully, this small dent in the bezel isn't a representation of far, more aggressive damage on the inside.
With a ding like that , have to wonder how the movement is now. hopefully all is well.
Yeah, that's definitely a concern, but getting the watch maintenanced shouldn't be too difficult, if necessary. I know I won't be able to ask Eddie to service it since I'm not the original owner, but, if it does require it, replacing the Miyota 9039 shouldn't be too much of a hassle for any watch repair place that's worth a damn.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Just flood the market with all the leaflets you got left.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
Just a thought, but as this eBay seller states he’d prefer to sell in SC but hasn’t achieved sufficient posts, would it be reasonable to allow him to reply here with a price which doesn’t include eBay fees, so that a deal could be achieved via PM?
Might help the seller as well as a TZ forumite who doesn’t have the cat-like reflexes necessary to buy directly from Eddie?
Not eBay but Carousel Singapore, this Traveller PRS-58 is being advertised at £614.

Black Navigator just finished at £390, reserve not reached. The same seller has the cream dialled version finishing in about 12 minutes, currently on just over £200, reserve not reached either.
