Totally understandable. I'm sure that £115 PRS10 would have hung around on SC for ages.

Back in 2019 I sold my PRS-50-B to a UK buyer for, if I remember correctly, about £350. The very same one is now up for sale in Taiwan for.... $1999!

That's just an asking price and it will probably sell for less but all the same. Wow.

I noticed that when I listed mine on eBay recently after in hung in here for ages there isn’t as many watches of Eddie’s on eBay, some abroad and some very optimistic pricing on dreadnoughts

Does this mean people are hanging on to them more, I guess it does

I suspect people are selling elsewhere due to steady increase of eBay fees to 15%, it is difficult to make your money back and not worth the bigger buyer audience.

Who actually pays full fees on eBay? They offer discounts 80% or 90% of final fees or list for pound so often you'd be mad not to wait.

Off topic, but I'm a business seller (jewellery) fairly low volume and I've waited 5 months for my latest one. Ebay are pushing bespoke and custom stuff, as well as pulling out the stops to encourage amateur sellers back. Just sayin'

Depends when offers are on I guess you don't always get them and it's a big big pool of people to sell to .. the fees just mean you price it higher to cover it

It is a ‘shop’, says the last picture. I refuse to buy there. I will wait for the 16th and try again. If not succesfull, I wait for the next round, or someone here that wants to sell.

Not being funny it might be bad form but if they are selling something they own there isn't a lot that can be done, was always going to get one or two pop up

It is a bit galling though when timefactor collectors can't buy one, to appreciate and keep, or if not what was expected, to be offered back to the forum first.

People can indeed do what they want with their own property but, when identified, Eddie doesn't need to sell to them again.

As commonly discussed, people buying just to resell for profit hurts availability for those who want to keep their watches.

Completely agree it's bad form and with such limited availability too, being so blatant about it too

    Question

    So ...

Been on here for Yonks but not posted often in all that time, and just wondering where the Mythical Sales Corner is ?

Ah - It has appeared ! I must have been being hasty.

Won't be able to post a thread though even though I can see it now.

I have a Precista that doesn't suit my particular nature and would prefer to sell for cost to a deserving member rather than posting on eBay or having to put Eddie through a refund trauma.

    What should I do ???

I'd say return or sell elsewhere. There aren't many rules on the site but needing 250 posts to sell is one of them. I appreciate you have been a member for a long time and aren't a newbie rushing to sell stuff but this seems a little like a stealth sales post.

If you can't wait another 61 years or so to get to 250 posts then eBay probably beckons. :-)

A business offering a refund is hardly trauma, especially one that's distance selling.

    Agreed.
Never said it was a trauma.
I just would prefer to get the watch to a TZ member that maybe found it difficult to get in during the 2 weekly 3 minute sales windows.
Seems there is no way until I get to 250 posts.
I am pretty sure the requirement when I joined was 50 posts ? A simple solution would be for members who joined before a change to have the rule as applicable at the time of joining not a set of moving goalposts - Just an idea, though probably impractical or not implementable.

Yes, but as you know full well, that's just a pathetic and pointless excuse for attempted profiteering.

If it fails to sell then he's perfectly likely to try another tack - it's too large for him!

Interesting how the question of warranty is deliberately vague, and also one of these sellers seems to be using a cut and paste of the timefactors website text (presumably with Eddie's permission or course)
