    The Eddie's on ebay thread.

Seems to be quite a following/ interest for Timefactors watches on the bay so thought it might be an idea to put them in one thread, just an idea...

Noticed this one which seems optimistically priced.

    The Eddie's on ebay thread.

Great idea for a thread. There’s a few I’ve spotted:

Looks like someone's having a clearout, some decent watches listed.

isnt that just going to encourage people here who see the high prices to flog them on ebay instead of keeping them on the forum

I have a short list of members here who've asked me to contact them if I ever sell my PRS-5 Broadarrow, so my answer is no.

The market rate would be the market rate regardless of platform used. Cant see it making much difference to be honest

First version of the PRS68. Rarely seen for sale these days. Missing the bracelet though unfortunately which I find fantastic.

Mine might be for sale at some point but will offer it on the forum.

I guess some people just have more money than patience. I would just rather wait for the store to open and be right there when it goes live. That is what I have done every time. I sure am glad I was there for the black dialed Navigator. I have not seen hardly a single Navigator for sale on ebay, although I did see one on SC which is a good thing to give other members an opportunity.

To you, probably not or you wouldn't be asking. To many people, yes.

Pedantically, it's no more 'unique', but possibly more valuable (to some).

My TZ watches have the same last 3 digits of their serial number, it's my birth day and month

I think people will spend the money because there are a number of positive reviews from YouTubers and that the current purchasing process seems to require more the luck of the man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo than patience.

I'm sure Eddie will get on top of the latter issue in time, but if you want an Everest (or other TF watch) now, buying a new one (as with some other Microbrands - Helm got a big backlash for this and now have a waiting list) is almost impossible.

I'd love to get a Caribbean when they're launched, but the days when you could just order up when and if it suited you seem to be gone, for now, at least.

I had to look up the meaning.

Privateer, privately owned armed vessel commissioned by a belligerent state to attack enemy ships, usually vessels of commerce. Privateering was carried on by all nations from the earliest times until the 19th century. Crews were not paid by the commissioning government but were entitled to cruise for their own profit, with crew members receiving portions of the value of any cargo or shipping that they could wrest from the original owners. Frequently, it was impossible to restrain the activities of privateers within the legitimate bounds laid down in their commissions. Thus, it often became difficult to distinguish between privateers, pirates, corsairs, or buccaneers, many of whom sailed without genuine commissions.

This same guy has just re listed it with a higher starting price. His reason for the increase? He bought another watch and needs to cover the costs! But don't worry, he's not a privateer

    This person got burned.

Not really surprising, when you see how poor the listing is.

Given how hard it is to buy TF watches these days, with watches going out of stock in under 60 seconds, people like this must be using bots to secure their eBay stock.

Is there a way to create hurdles for the bots, for example using a captcha during the checkout process ?

It won’t necessarily stop these people but at least everyone will have an equal chance at the Timefactors Checkout Challenge.

I’m surprised the PRS-50 no rad hasn’t been snapped up by someone. Is it the fact that it needs a service putting people off?

Not on ebay, but on r/watchexchange on reddit: SMITHS Everest white dial PRS-25 for $550 USD

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Watchexchan...eel_hands_nib/

"36mm dial is smaller than I’m used to wearing on my ~7.5 wrist. Catch and release, still in the original plastics and comes with everything. I didn’t even try it on, NIB condition." Disappointing to read, but not terribly priced for someone here in the US.

    Jubilee open market values

I occasionally watch Time Factors watch prices on eBay and I recently saw a never worn Jubilee in the USA open at $0.99 in a standard auction. I remembered to watch the auction to see what it went for.

It finished at 14:00:01 (UK time) today at $820.00, or £667.21 (according to eBay's slightly optimistic currency convertor).

I thought that this was a rather interesting observation of the open market value of the Everest PRS-25 Jubilee.

Back in 2019 I sold my PRS-50-B to a UK buyer for, if I remember correctly, about £350. The very same one is now up for sale in Taiwan for.... $1999!

That's just an asking price and it will probably sell for less but all the same. Wow.

that one went at retail price, I've seen another one sold slightly over. I believe the navigator is going to be a slow burner: is not as popular as the Everest yet, and maybe never will, but it is a truly excellent watch.
Maybe not as much a crowd-pleaser being manual and not Rolex-like, but excellent anyway.

So curious how many of these flippers seriously only buy with the intention to sell. I understand if someone buys and decides it’s not for them but don’t sell it for twice the price. 😠

Anyone is welcome to sell it via this forum even if they don't have direct access to the SC, some choose not to, as ever 'money talks'.
