    Rolex price increase

I'm not sure what the point is as you must be aware there are quite a few guys on here that have been frustrated in their attempts to purchase certain professional models-David_D being one of them.
I'm not sure how you saying you got 3 in 3 months is really helping them.
Im saying because I genuinely believe supply is improving. I don’t know why they are, but I feel they are.

I changed dealer last year when the previous one refused to hold a watch for me a day until I got back to the U.K. I still use a WoS dealer but the relationship is less than a year old.

Perhaps ending VAT free for visitors, covid, political unrest in other counties, etc but supply is improving. My point is for a current model I would be cautious paying a premium.

I’d suggest people stay in touch with the dealer, make sure that have correctly recorded your purchase history and know what you want to buy.

Anyone heard further rumors on the subject? I was somewhat skeptical about it at first, given the marginal strengthening of the GBP over USD / EUR, but it makes sense that Rolex will raise prices somewhat to account for the added import friction following Brexit.

What added import friction? I didn't think Switzerland was part of the EU, so this is one product I wouldn't expect to be affected by Brexit changes.

For trade it very much is. Not the EU itself, but the EEA. Same trade block.

Switzerland is not in the EEA There should be no difference in trade arrangements between Switzerland and the UK

Which covers Switzerland's relationship with the EU.
It doesn't tie it into the EU Customs Union which means it is not tied into the same rules as the EU with third party countries

Is this increase UK only? I tried asking my AD here in the USA but I haven’t heard back. 🤔 you would think that them saying there’s one coming would incentivize me to buy now.

You would think. Alternatively if they knew an increase was coming then ADs might hold back stock to sell them with an increased profit margin.

Nobody really knows - not even the ADs imho

Still no news on the increase? Wonder if the closure of non essential retail has delayed it, in which case were looking at least April

Quite glad if it gets delayed as I have a few more pieces I want to buy. The money I saved in my man maths pays for another watch.

My thinking too! 10% over a couple of watches means we can spend that saving on another for the collection. Yay!

In the same way in which forum members post pictures of their fine timepieces on a Friday, is there a tradition to be the first to post about a Rolex price rise on the 1st of the month?

Think they're trying to tie it in with the new 21 plate cars.

Haha. And wait for 5-7 years on a waitlist unless you know a lenient Chinese restaurant proprietor :)

Has Rolex increased their servicing costs? My AD just got back to me and to service my 16710 comes to £600 (£500+VAT). I think it was £550 before?

Not massive, but I did get it verbally confirmed in January from RSC it was £550 inc vat.

I don’t think Rolex got the memo about the price increase this month! Damn slack really. If they don’t increase it next month in conjunction with the new releases there will be uproar!

I for one will never ever ever buy a Rolex again unless they get their act together and increase their prices

  42. #192
With the recent straightening of the GBP against the CHF, perhaps Rolex will lower their prices!!

Was thinking that with regard to the price increase. Maybe Rolex is in a wait-and-see mode. Since the start of the year the GBP has strengthened by half as much in % terms against the EUR as the price increase was rumored to be.
