I find it difficult to understand what happens here. The driver pauses on the incline and has to hill start, goes a bit too far with the accelerator then panics and floors the accelerator instead of the brake? I dont understand what goes through their head?

I’m thinking it’s an auto box with auto parking brake. So, chap arrives home, comes to a stop with footbrake - auto p brake comes on and he’s still in D. He’s done, he reckons. Turns to faff about in the cabin (lifting something from passenger seat, who knows) and in the process accidentally depresses accelerator. This releases the auto p brake and sets him off with such gusto that he’s too panicked to do anything other than keep the pedal down....

Is that a for sale sign in the garden? I really want to believe it’s an estate agent coming to host a viewing.

Did everything he/she could not to hit the house :-)

I wonder how much it costs just to sort the bonnet airbag deployment on those new gen of sports cars 🤔

When I put the parking brake on in my Merc it put it into neutral,

Our electric Jag needs a prod to get it moving, electric cars don’t seem to creep very well, not even in creep mode, I reckon it didn’t move on the hill and the driver gave it a prod.

Is it only me who's felt a bit gutted for the person? Maybe they'd only just got it and it was their pride and joy, not to mention the other poor sods who's cars got hit.

You're not the only one - I feel the same way. Hopefully they weren't injured in the accident.

I’m making a few assumptions here, but the car must be worth more than house it’s parking by. I often see amazing cars outside (comparatively) cheap houses - never understood that.

Life is a pie chart and everyone's priories are different I guess. In a posh area near me where the houses are £3m+ the drives are full of Polos, Jukes and the odd Fiesta. Where I am which is bog standard it's full of high end BMWs and Range Rovers. Bit like seeing Sky dishes all over tower blocks.

Those people (3m+) don’t need to impress the neighbours.
