    Another Hodinkee Limited Edition

I like the look of this with the grey dial, blue hands and applied numerals and the case size but would want a sapphire crystal at this price point, $500 or 500 Euros if purchased from Merci. Also no Lume.

Also 1,500 is not that limited, for example there are only 200 of my PRS-29b double dome.

I think they've nailed this one - good point about the crystal though, sapphire or plexi would have been fine. Apart from that, I've liked these watches for a while, as does Mr Macron I believe, and this is a very appealing version.

A link to the Merci site for those interested to avoid paying US import duty.

I'm thinking that doesnt stack up well vs Eddie's Navigator for similar money. That's my opinion though and should be ignored as such!

I am not bothered about the lack of lume. Before I bought my first automatic I would have thought it was a must have, but now I have a diver with lume, I never actually use it.

The navigator from Eddie seems a much better option at the price point,

Really like that actually. Perfect size - shame about the lug width

Not really sure it justifies double the cost of a standard model!

I think the case is nice and this being Hodinkee, the watch looks great in the publicity photographs. I've been thinking about getting a Merci watch as a present for someone, so this option was interesting, but I decided it might look very plain in the flesh. I also think with a watch like this, it's better to go as cheap as possible, and dare I say it quartz - which is how I thinkthey started out. Merci's profile was certainly raised by Macron wearing one to demonstrate his common touch in the face of criticisms that he was aloof and out of touch.

It's not, it is the same price as the other, non-LE, mechanical watches, which are twice the price of quartz models.

It's got the Hodinkee name on the dial, and whilst I can't help but like some of their collaborations, the proper place for that has to be the caseback.

I would have expected a sapphire crystal for this price.

Despite a few criticisms, a nice watch nonetheless, IMO.

Only thing to me is the size. If only its 1mm or 2mm larger!

It's a good-looking watch, it's just the Hodinkee association that muddies things a little.
I like how the numbers look as if they are hovering slightly above the dial. More interesting than the regularLMM-H01 imho.

The helicopter pad is a nice touch, although I think it's a little small to land anything on...

Really like the look of this watch, especially with the Arabic dial and muted colour theme. Tempted to put in an order, but with a few recent Zelos purchases, this will have to wait.

Look forward to seeing the reviews from members that have pulled the trigger.

About the crystal, it's weird they've gone mineral. When I bought the 'original' version in April 2019, it was acrylic. I liked the watch but didn't love it, it went back on account of misaligned hands (the hour hand lagging minimally on the hour). It cost €400 back then rather than €500.

Compared against my PRS-29AM, it felt less serious, less of a tool watch, more of a cute watch.

The Hodinkee connection will be an incentive for some and a deterrent for others. I'm the others.

Edit: And I see from the OP pic that they keep squeezing a 20mm NATO in the 19mm lug space.

Shame about the 19mm lugs but a pretty looking thing nonetheless.

    Oh ok...my mistake. Duly noted.

Quartz are listed at €€250, mechanicals at €€500

More care needed when doing a quick scan!

    Thank you
