    Damasko Customisation

    Pulling the trigger on a damasko and they are going to build it - choices are being indicated. The DA43 has an orange pip and orange second hand. Replacing orange second hand with green makes me think of Ireland;

I'd prefer orange/orange, but I'm not messing with Ireland!

    Looks good.

Is this being done now? as all the DAxx models have now disappeared from the Damasko website... I think I read somewhere that they were going to be replaced with upgraded in-house movements.

Literally just confirmed it. No longer available on website. Went with the green seconds hand.

Looks really nice, and must be a great shopping experience to get some custom changes. Enjoy!

Really? If so, it's a significant change for Damasko. Will all their movements become in-house?

I ordered a custom DC66 at the end of September through an AD, 6-8 weeks delivery time. Order was confirmed and 50% paid. Heard literally nothing on progress despite having enquired - and the AD is usually known to be very good in feedback to customers.
Asking about I have heard a plethora of rumours regarding Damasko’s current state of play - some positive and some negative.
Will give it another week but without some sort of delivery update I will have to start asking questions!

I have heard on one hand they are selling more watches than ever, struggling to meet demand, all while launching new watches and refreshing current ranges.
On the other hand that they are struggling to deliver for other economic and technical reasons.
    Don’t know what to believe.
Really don’t understand the AD not yet going me an update given their great reputation.

When you say ‘nailed’ ..... I assume u mean stolen - or do you mean some customs issues. If stolen, are Damasko being targeted specifically?? :/

More stolen. Not customs issues. Some may say issues with their courier service or maybe customers ? Who can say for sure ?

I say that could well be a reasonable explanation for the lack of movement on my custom order.
Just had another contact from a watch discord group confirm other brands are suffering losses too.
It would certainly account for the lack of info from the AD, who’s reputation is golden, - got a feeling they are embarrassed and probably trying to sort things without alarming and upsetting their own customer base.
Whatever the situation I am gonna ask the AD to confirm status of my order and just to be honest.

Wasn't Damasko's factory vandalised recently causing it to shut down?

Actually here's a photo of Damasko's new movement to replace the ETA 2824 / 2836 movements. I read that it's architecture allows it to be a direct replacement for the ETA movements.

That too but I think main issue is theft. With direct orders anyway !

My custom order direct with Damasko earlier this year took easily double the estimated time - and then they got it slightly wrong! They did remedy it promptly at their own expense, with profuse apologies and armloads of freebies - the final watch was very much worth the wait, so ultimately I'm very happy.

They are buried in work with pre-xmas orders and the launch of the latest in-house movement, too.

i hope mine doesn't take that long. I ended up going via CW in the end. From what I hear that could mean it will take longer - direct customers are prioritised.

Just noticed two new in house movement released in the DS30 case, date and no date. Does this mean that my ETA powered DS30 is now a collector's item???

Lol, no chance of that. The new in house cal has a lot to live up to if mine is anything to go by. Last wearing cycle it was averaging -0.92 secs per day.

Not customised, but yes, good. My DA37 and DC56, from 2005 and 2008 respectively, still looking good to me.

Still no update from AD - the silence doesn’t bode well.
