Black friday just seems to have turned into a generic sale now with the same sale prices as all the other sales.

Anyways, here is the Very.com regular sale ( i mean black friday sale lol )

Cleared my inbox of garbage Black Friday promotions every 30 mins this morning. Same shops churning out the same tat.

Always makes me laugh at the wide variety of online retailers I’ve bought from over the years though.

Smartwool have some decent offers if you like Merino wool. They are not in the UK though, despite the address, so the postage is more than you would expect it to be. Be quick though as it is just this weekend.

I bought a couple of their Lids (Merino Beanies). They are £29 each on Amazon by the time you have factored in postage and customs fees. I have just bought 2 for £45, including the £10 postage and taxes. The navy and olive are cheaper than the slate grey. There is plenty of other Merino stuff to choose from for adults and kids.

I notice a few on here have shown an interest in Redwings, these Carharrt work boots are of a similar style and also waterproof, only problem they don’t appear to be available in the Uk. Kind of hoping someone knows different?

I personally wouldn't. The video below should be interesting. I would try for a discount elsewhere or maybe look at the lower priced Chukkas or something else, but not the Carhartt boots. Love their jeans though.

The Sony’s didn’t do it for me (nor the Bose). I’ve ordered the Shure Aonic 50s off Amazon. 25% off bringing them to £269. They felt great when I tried them and cannot wait for them to arrive!

Hey thanks for posting up that video, I watched a few of the others linked to it too, definitely won’t be buying the Carharrts, always liked the Redwings and the Thursday Diplomats with the slightly lower toe are also appealing. Further research required I think.

Superb, never lose perpective! Spending 200 quid on appliances you use daily and could expect to get 10+ years of service from makes more sense to my mates than a watch worth £5k that keeps worse time than a phone.

For some reason amazon de is cheaper than amazon uk
VAT is currently reduced to 16% in Germany so that has some impact. You can also change the language to English as well.

Shipping is not included, Prime member or not!

I was wathcing a YouTube video recently where the wife had said that the husband should throw away the 25 year old-ish Dualit toaster and buy a new one. He sent off for a new heating element set and timer, and took fine wire wool to the tops of the slots where it was looking burnt, and some chrome cleaner to the rest. With the new timer and heating elements, as well as the work he did, it would be hard to distinguish it from new. There must be a very small proportion of 25 year old white goods that you can still buy parts for and fix yourself.

I had one but sold it - the ‘thick n thin’ capability is required for me

I was constantly getting things stuck in it - much happier with my ‘insert generic brand name here’ toaster

Doesn’t look anywhere near as good though

Love my dualit. All toasters in the past took ages and made the toast too hard. Dualit does it half the time and keeps the toast softer in the middle.

Pricey but had mine around 5 years now. We should be moving back to this repair strategy for goods instead of throw away.

As a teen, my son worked in Dixons or maybe Currys. He reckoned the cheapest way of owning a toaster was to buy one of theirs for then £9.99 and get the extended warranty. He reckoned they rarely lasted longer than a year, so you could take it back thrice for new ones if you timed it right. He was full of cunning stunts.

The Dualit must be the Rolex of the toaster world. Or perhaps the Rolex is the Dualit of the watch world?

    Pro V1 Balls

Hot golf are running a 10% discount on orders over £100 which includes free shipping. 3 dozen Pro V1 golf balls come out at £99.87, which is pretty good.

Bushcraft Essentials 15% off using code BLACKSALE

This one didn't work out for me. There was nowhere to type in the coupon code BLACKSALE for the 15% off. I still bought the Folding Bushbox FL set, but paid full price for it. I contacted them through their Twitter account so hope to get a refund of the discount.
