Hard to look at his career and talent, and not put him right up there with the best of his era.
Another TV stalwart gone. RIP

Another of my childhood staples, weekend TV with my mum. A good innings, RIP.
Blimey, I didn’t actually realise he was still around. Must have got confused with Bob Monkhouse. RIP anyway.
Sad news.Funnily enough while I was doing an image search for something yesterday, I forget what - a pic of a youthful Des came up, with an improbably bouffant semi-combover hairdo and massive sideburns.
I'm sure I'll remember him best for his appearances on Morecambe and Wise. What a good sport he was.

That’s sad, always seemed a genuinely lovely man and great entertainer. Coincidentally was talking about him last week.
Another classic gone, lots of childhood memories especially around Christmas, he was always up for a laugh. RIP Des
RIP Des, you were a multi-talented entertainer.
RIP Des. My mother always told me that you and Tom O'Connor were brothers. Only a few years back I found out you weren't 🤣
Never afraid to laugh at himself. Seemed like a nice guy.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
RIP Des. Always thought he was a great comedian and not a bad singer
Norman Wisdom on the Des OConnor show was perhaps one of the funniest things I have every watched.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.
Friedrich Nietzsche
Did some hilarious stuff with Freddie Starr as well.
Rip Des.
RIP Des.
Always liked the show with Stan Boardman re the Focker airplanes
