Love the American style of testing. And I think I've found my new bike padlock.

Not much of a shot tbh.

Thing is, no padlock is much good these days with cordless disc grinders available.

Well that is a depressing thought. Having said that I can’t imagine going at a lock with a disc grinder is the most subtle of thefts

Depressing perhaps but true. We’re not talking subtle with most thieves unfortunately and disc cutters are often used to cut the locks on trailers, caravans and gates.

I don't think I'd want to be within 10 miles of that pair of idiots and their lack of gun handling safety... mind you, they couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo, so it's probably quite safe.

Having done a fair bit of 9mm Glock shooting, I've seen a lot worse on the range.

When I bought my Bonneville, it was a stolen/recovered bike, auctioned off for the insurers by Copart. I had noticed in the Copart listing there was a lock on the wheel, and I wanted to wheel it onto my trailer, so took along a fabricator mate's 18v Makita cordless 4" grinder and a slitting disc or two, and a spare battery. I was expecting to have to work at a cut for a few minutes.
It was a decent D-lock, like you get for bicycles. Can't remeber the make, but it wasn't a total cheapo like you buy with Halfords name on it.

It took about 25 seconds to cut straight through the D lock. I was shocked how easy it was. It wasn't even loud. You could have done it to steal a bike almost without detection.
Shocked. I will never use a padlock or D lock again, I will only use things like a disc losk or similar where the locking pin is totally shrouded and you would need to cut the whole lock to open it.

If you want to chop a lock, cut the case not the shackle. Just sayin’

A CRAZY fool would cable tie a grenade to the lock, then BOOM.
