It wears almost identically to a 4 or 5 digit Rolex Submariner. The only difference is the movement on the Tudor is not as thick so the overall watch thickness is less.

Thanks. I had 4, 5 and 6 digits at the same time and found the 5513 wore slightly bigger (to me at least) than the 14060 and the 16610.

Tried on a friends red sub and that seemed slightly bigger again, probably due to the top hat.

Interesting, Ive got a 14060m and a 76100 and they seem very similar in size. My mate has a 1680 and the top hat crystal is indeed taller than the one of the 76100 so yes, that maybe gives an impression of it being bigger.

All in all, much of a muchness really. They are all great watches.

Not much in it compared to the 1680.
The 5513 I have is a Milsub so more comfy on the nato anyway.
The Tudor was nice but has gone now as it was too similar and I didn’t see me wearing it over the red.
    Onto the next watch chase!

    Lovely 1680

Both very smart indeed but yes, I don’t think the Tudor wouldn’t get much of a look in against that Red Sub!

A few terrible pics for comparison. Excuse the finger prints.

If you look closely you can see the case back on the 14060m is much thicker than the almost flat case back of the 76100. I can only assume the ETA in the Tudor is a thinner movement.

I presumed that this difference is because the flat sapphire crystal requires the movement to be set further back in the case, whereas the space under the top hat acryllic on the lollipop allows it to move forward.
We need a piccy of the sub next to a 79190 to compare

You could actually be correct with that theory but if that was the case, wouldn’t the rehaut area of the case need to be different? I’m just thinking about the position of the stem/crown also ?

Looks like the 79190 has the same case back as the 76100 and 79090.

My 79190 feels thinner than the 16610

Yup, my mistake. The WR is greater for the Rolex though. and that may occasion a thicker caseback.

Inspired by this thread got this old thing onto a new strap which seems to match it quite well…wears very comfortably.

Looks familiar. Great to see you still have it Ben.

The poor thing hasn’t had the amount of wear it deserves but the upside is that it’s still in lovely condition. I think it’s the reason for my Black Bay obsession…so I owe that to you as well!

Surprised by the 14060m vs 76100 side shot, didn’t expect the 76100 to be that much thinner.. there’s not a whole lot in it once on the wrist I’d imagine.. I do find my 76100 impressively thin, even with an Erika’s strap it’s so compact against the wrist.

Definitely not noticeable on the wrist in my experience.

Here is another good shot that shows a few different comparisons.

Well, Watches of Switzerland in Regent Street have advised me that they now have my bracelet there, so I’ve just asked them to hold fire and I’ll let them know when post it to me. I have to admit, I’m really excited to see what it looks like mounted on the watch.

Quick question... will the screwdriver blade in the Sea-Dweller bracelet tool fit the screws on the 78500 bracelet? I think the tool blade is 1.6mm but I fear the screw heads on the 78500 may be 1.4mm?

Just checked, and my 1.6mm blade is the correct size for the 78500 screws.

Thanks Colin. Just wanted to check in advance, as I'm not quite myself right now so may be a little more cack-handed than usual!

Will attack it very carefully remove a link later today.

I do like the bracelet - very lightweight yet clearly a quality item.

Very happy indeed with that (excuse the hospital bruising).

You are obviously on BUPA if they’ve managed to provide bedsheets in the clan tartan.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Doesn't it? Just hoping that the pip remains in place, but very happy to have relieved you of it and sorted the couple of things to "finish it off".

Watch looks ace, and the strap fits it too (loved the look on my Snowflake).
Hope the bruising goes soon and the longer, brighter, warmer days lift your wellbeing as much as it lifts me.

Just to add, love these and very wearable, prefer the light weight and smaller face
